Hey everyone...newcomer introduction here. I'm in Raleigh NC and just celebrated my 1st anniversary of pipe smoking. I guess you could say I am still in the honeymoon period, trying to figure out my favorite pipes and tobaccos (and how to smoke them properly).
Glad to have you join the forum, @casualpiper! Feel free to ask any questions and join in the camaraderie. You'll find a great group of folks here. Cheers!

@casualpiper Welcome to the fold this is a great group of gentlemen here with lots of good knowlegde to aquire just for the asking. I have been smoking for just of a year myself and have learned alot from the Wise men enjoy the smoke.
Welcome to ALL who have joined us recently......join in on he conversations to both spread some wisdom and to see what others have posted and talked about.
Welcome @Rebelheathen and @Photobycorey . You'll find a wealth of information as well as odd ball comments from our friendly community of like-minded people with a passion for all things pipes and tobacco. I've been smoking a pipe for well over 50 years but was never knowledgeable of the many facets of the hobby until joining The Pipe Line and watching videos of YouTube Pipe Presenters. Never too old to learn something new. Learned the proper care and maintenance of a pipe, the joy of refurbishing older Estate pipes - a thought that once disgusted me ("putting some stranger's pipe in your mouth that had been sitting on the shelf of some antique store for God knows how long"), jarring and long term cellaring techniques, re-hydrating apparently dead dry tobacco to smokable condition, smoking techniques such as the breath method ... and ways to eliminate tongue bite, commentary on the various blends and helpful reviews, branching out to create Frankenstein blends of your own, and techniques like stacking blends in your bowl for a new smoking experience. Opening doors that took my pipe smoking to a whole new level of enjoyment.
And you'll discover talented craftsmen in our midst who create amazing pipes that rival or surpass long established Pipe Makers like Peterson, Stanwell, Nording, Dunhill, and Savinelli.
And for @Photobycorey we have threads and subject lines dedicated to displaying pipe photos in your collection. Which should give you an additional outlet to display your skills all the while enjoying a good smoke at the same time.
Hello, everyone. They call me Ole'Pops. I guess I kind'a let curiosity get the best of me. I am a pipe smoker. I have been for a long time. I was not invited here, but I wandered in on my own. I hope I haven't broken any cardinal rules or anything. Someone out there may know me. It may or may not increase my chances to be asked to leave, but the pipe life is a heck of a life none the less and I wish you no ill will if you do delete me. I'll smoke my pipe anyway.

Hey all. I have been meaning to join this. It's hard to find time for another forum but worth the effort. You may recognize me from Pipes Magazine and BN on FB. I'm in upstate NY, and have been smoking a pipe for awhile now. Happy to check out the crazy growth going on here.
