@Zouave1864 I have the “Bellicoso” and the “Robusto” as well. They are all great pipes, pretty similar in function as Kirsten’s, Falcon’s, and the like… maybe a bit classier?, not so art deco or mid century modern? They are pretty cool because the have a built in cap that stores on the bottom of the pipe, and the pipe can break down into four parts easily. I want to make a small leather travel pouch for them. I just haven’t made it that far yet🙂
I have three other Tsuge pipes they are all great pipes. I have another four designs on my wishlist….maybe someday? If I were only made of money🤔
@KA9FFJ It came in Wednesday but I haven't had time to sand the black stain out of the bowl. The stem fits my Boone and the amber Danish stem looks good on the Ruby!
If I can get the foul taste out of the acrylic stem I might start experimenting with opening up some of the forever stem offerings.
I have my Tsuge “Topper” fully loaded with C&D “Carolina Red Flake 2022”. The two tamper looking pins are the two sizes #1 & #2 of Tsuge “Bottom Advancers” for the “Topper” series of pipes (they are upside-down). If one should decide on a “not so stack smoke”, the pins are inserted pin down to “advance the bottom” of the bowl closer to the top, reducing the volume of the tobacco chamber giving the choice of three bowl depths. At the same time when using the “bottom advancers” turning the pipe into a “calabash system” with an air chamber under the pin. Conveniently, they can be used as tampers, although they are both too short to reach the bottom of the “Toppers” as you can see by the picture. This pipe is definitely a “stack” with a 3” bowl height and 11/16” bore, a perfect Virginia tobacco pipe. Also, the bowl needs to be clear of all but a very thin cake so the pins don’t get stuck. Air wouldn’t pass around the edges if it were caked in tightly anyway, most likely the reason they do not have air holes bored in the top.
Inaugural journey on the compass with some cowboy coffee from country squire. First time with this blend. Seems to me the Virginias and the dark fired are playing about 50/50. One of the better blends I’ve had to be honest. Moisture was perfect. A tobacco flavored blend for sure in the best way. Would recommend.
@RockyMountainBriar Commercial hard ciders are a sweet drink closer to tonic than booze. I was forced to give up beer years ago when I became gluten intolerant, those went down straight from the bottle or can!
@Whoispra Many have asked about my RMB pipes. For the time it takes me to make one, I would want some serious cash for them. I don’t have that kind of reputation. I’d have to get a buyer at $300-$500 for a new little pipe like that before it would be worth me letting it go. Heck, I wouldn’t buy it from me at that price🙂. The All-Briar type would take ~$150….again, I probably wouldn’t bite at that price. I am a cheap bastard though.

Starting to get a nice little tan... 🙂
Have you received your MM Ruby yet?

2 good looking pipes...
Great grain on that pipe!
Question: Does that bowl come with a damper?
😏
Looks like an all day pipe, fill in the morning, enjoy all day, empty and clean before bed, wake up and repeat!
Amazing design and beautiful grain. I could see me igniting the bill of me ball cap, if I got distracted.
Is drinking a beverage from a can with a straw “a thing” in your neck of the woods? I have never seen that around here, just curious.
I remember when you first introduced that pipe. Fabulous, just Fabulous!
Remember my list?...😁
Enjoying some Tinderbox Honey and Maple in my reworked "bloodline" pipe...
