I’m a little late to the party (All Hallows Eve)……Smoking some C&D “The Beast” this evening in one of my Pete Halloween pipes. “The Beast” has tin note of a kind of “the bottom of a horse stall” aroma, kinda funky, kinda sweet. That’s some fine Perique 😉
Good Morning! Woke up to the first dusting of snow that has already changed to a light drizzle. Starting the day with GLP Westminster in a bent Apple Diplomat along with a cup of coffee.
Started the day with some Lane HGL in one of my "BIM" pipes. If you have never experienced Latakia or don't want it to be overpowering , you might consider trying this blend. Basically it's RLP-6 with a TOUCH of Latakia...
@AceFour The question is which Armellini? I would guess that is a Vilma Armellini and not a Mauro Armelini. Mauro died in 2004 and his daughter Vilma continued with the business.
@PappyJoe I’ll have to look, but I think mine is a Mauro. Along with Vilma, I believe her son is also involved in the creation of the current Armelini pipes.
@RockyMountainBriar Mine is a cavalier I found at a junktique shop four or five years ago. I found the contact information for Armellini pipes and sent a photo to them and asked if they had any information on it. Vilma wrote back that it was an original Mauro Armellini carved back in the 70s. She called it a trumpet pipe.
Played 18 earlier today. Weather holding up pretty good so far. After a haircut, I'm enjoying some New World Export in a reworked noname pipe... Hope you're having a good Veteran's Day (today and tomorrow)...
Smoking my Symposium di Mauro Armellini “Signature”, calumet styled pipe. It is loaded with some MM “Luminaire”, gifted to me by a fellow TPL “Brother of the Briar”. Thank you sir, this tobacco is right up my alley and mighty tasty😋
@KA9FFJ I have one of those ruby pipes on it's way!
Busy weekend, cleared space in the birdhouse for the turkeys and trying to keep the water working. I did have time to enjoy GLP Kensington, Meridian and Lagonda in various cobs

That’s a pretty nice Pete knockoff. It looks as good as any standard Pete, better than some.
Now that there is a nice briar. Who be the manufacturer? It looks similar to one of my Rattray’s, or a Savinelli Nonpareil.
Interesting, I am not drawn to J. Alan pipes generally. I have seen a few that I liked though, the ones that look similar to yours🙂
Your pipe selection for today is mighty nice as well👍🏻. Maestro de Paja?

Nice looking pipes, Brother. Great grain, as near as I can tell.
I thought it looked a bit removed from a Mastro de Paja, ahh…best guess right. Dang, I have an Armellini, I should have made a better guess🙂

I’m not falling for that one😬
