Smoking some Wilke “Vanilla/Black Cavendish” in a L’Anatra Scottanaso this evening. I’m not sure what is going on with this tobacco, but the side-stream of smoke is torching my nose hairs and making my eyes water. The smoke taste itself is not bad, maybe a slight chemical flavor and burning kinda hot, but I can retro-hale without trouble, but my-o-my is the smoke coming off of the bowl spicy?…..weird. I thank the TPL benefactor that provided this sample, now I know not to order more🙂
Cult BRM, again. Damn, but that’s one fine smoking cherry blend. The tin note is cough syrup, but the taste is pure pleasure. And the room note is reminiscent of Middleton’s Cherry Blend, which, back in the day, smelled great but bit like a rabid honey badger.
Last Christmas my son bought me a handmade pipe from a vendor out in Las Vegas (that's where my son and his wife live). Anyway, I never cared for it and never smoked it. My wife told me I needed to smoke it at least once before they get here for Christmas. So, I used BCA to break it in. The pipe MUST be held in your hand which I also didn't care for, but I must say, it smoked surprisingly well. I did enjoy the smoke, but not the pipe... And YES it's really that big!
@KA9FFJ It looks like it deserves a bigger bore, you know, to hold a whole tin of tobacco😬 Are you sure it’s not supposed double as a woodworking mallet too?😬
@KA9FFJ As a bonus, it’s a nice smoker…with anything I load it with👍🏻. It smokes extremely dry and has never had any moisture collect in the well, or have stem gurgle.
@Londy3 I have had several “gurgle monster” Peterson’s, at least they were before I reworked them. I still have some that are wet smokers. I haven’t figured them out yet.
Well earlier this year I reworked this Paronelli and turned it into a Christmas pipe. So I'll be using this one quite frequently during the season. Starting it off with some C&D We Three Kings...

Slept late and starting the day with GLP Abingdon in a Rob Roy along with a cup of Columbian coffee.
I think I'm with Snoopy on this one, if I can pull it off.
My list brother, my list!
Doing some Dulce de Leche in a Sav 9904...
Good Morning!
After feeding all the critters I'm watching the news with a bent MM Apple Diplomat filled with GLP Abingdon along with a cup of coffee.

That is MASSIVE.
The expression on your face tells all.

Well, it shouldn't after all, it's a Peterson which are not usually cheap. My thoughts at least
What wood is that made from. I've never seen a briar with that grain pattern.
