Smoking a Pete Iora Spigot 2s loaded with some Sutliff “Moulin Rouge”. Sutliff tobacco…dang…I let it dry out for over an hour and it’s still too damn wet. Luckily I chose wisely with the 2s, it has a huge sump/well. Even so, it may fill to overflowing with this sopping wet tobacco.
Starting the day after an overnight frost with GH Balkan Mixture in an MM Pride along with coffee.
@RockyMountainBriar Sutliff is treated with PG to help it retain it's moisture and accept more water. C&D, Gawith and Kohlhase seem to be just distilled water.
@KA9FFJ Yes, the contrast stain on a sandblast is what got me interested in sandblasted pipes. Before seeing any, I didn’t want anything to do with sandblasted pipes. Now I can look past the flaws that kept them from becoming a smooth and still see the beauty in the grain. They do not have to be contrast stained either, but they still look better with it usually. Nice bare ‘nekkid’ naturals that can take on a patina over time are catching my eye too. That’s pipes @vtgrad2003 🙂…….well it could be other things too😬. I have also let up slightly on my disdain of rusticated pipes as well….if….they are free from big divots and are bare ‘nekkid’ naturals that can also take on a patina, much like a meer. I have an eye out for the natural bare ‘nekkid’ versiobs of the Savinelli “Riccio” in either a 311KS (poker) or 320KS (author), also the Rattray’s “Distillery” 106 (bent dublin) or “Devil’s Cut” 130 (barrel/poker). Too many cool pipes, not enough P.A.D. finances.
@Whoispra Maybe @Londy3 ‘s comment was sarcastic. It looks like a rough day, drinking Woodford Reserve and having a pipe…..not🙂
@Londy3 that bourbon “neat” is kinda cheat’in, I see that drink stone in there. I guess it’s still neat technically, although there has to be some condensation watering that drink😉
Damn, now I want bourbon and a pipe…..about an hour to go👍🏻
I went down the rabbit hole this evening🙂. I poured myself some Rabbit Hole Bourbon on some ice and loaded my Barling Benjamin Guinea Grain with some Mac Baren’s Royal Twist Deluxe Roll Cake from August 2021.
@RockyMountainBriar I still consider it neat since it is not being deluded by melting ice. The cooling stones definitely don't reduce the quality which is why I use them. The only difference is my stones are sexy 🤣😎
@RockyMountainBriar @Londy3 Solid bourbon selections! I left my bottle of Eagle Rare in my cigar shop locker. Enjoyed some last night. Unfortunately the entire visiting family are teetotalers so no bourbon for me today until they've all gone to bed lol. I've still got some Col. EH Taylor in my liquor nook.
We just moved the ducklings to larger quarters. We move them one at a time to give them an illusion of flying, unfortunately my wife was in the exhaust path of two of hers and is upstairs changing! I'm enjoying GH Balkan Mixture in a Pride along with a Downeast unfiltered hard cider.

Damn, it’s 10AM and now I want a lemon (or lime) bubbly somethin somethin. Screw the coffee.

Mmm Coconut/Pineapple.
I have not seen Bubly around here…but then again, I have not looked. Maybe it doesn’t travel well on stagecoaches🤔

Love to 2-tone stain on that spigot. Very nice...

How's that rabbit hole?
I had a girl tell me my stones were sexy once. It was a long time ago and I may have misunderstood.
I'll let you guys know how I liked it later.

I will sip a few for you this weekend 😉
Looking forward to you insights, the C&D “Repose” looks like it would be right up my alley.
Is that the No. 400 Superior Navy Flake? It is one of my favorites.
