While sitting there with my pipe in hand, I noticed these odd clouds... I probably had a close encounter, but was enjoying my pipe too much to notice...
I just finished my second pipe filled with GLP Charring Cross and I'm starting GH DVC along with a fresh cup of coffee. Today's pipe is an MM Let Freedom Ring Rob Roy.
Working on a backyard deck project. Break time and doing some Match VIP in an old Darby workhorse... This blend is, to me, a reminder of some of the old relatives that smoked a pipe while I was growing up. Virginia is forefront but the white burly is right there too. It is NOT a strong Aromatic, though it is classified as one. Hints of sweetness can be detected, but my palate isn't refined enough (at all) to tell you what it is. A refreshing relief from some aros that really jump out at you. I recommend everyone buy 2 oz. That way if you don't like it, you can mail it to me...😏
Trying to decide what blend to use breaking in a new pipe that arrived today.
Each year I am involved with the Chicago pipe show and each year I leave at its conclusion without a new pipe.
This happens because in the American market 9mm filter pipes don't sell and I get it, but after years of this I decided that if I did not find one this year, I would pony up the cash and have one made.
Well I did buy / bid on an estate pipe this year and was very pleased when I won but I still wanted a real custom (my first one).
Pretty sure you all will recognize the work and material.
Good Morning! Today I'll be switching between GH Balkan Mixture and DVC in an MM Missouri Pride. It's been working out well using a well rested pipe for the day and giving it a good clean the next morning. It's what I did in my early days and only had 5 or six pipes.
May we take the time this weekend to remember our fallen brothers and the ultimate sacrifice they gave. A meaningful Memorial Day weekend to you all...
Due to the raving of several Brothers, I purchased 8 oz. of Lane Limited 1-Q, which was back ordered and arrived yesterday. I set in the shade of a crab apple tree in the front yard. It was a beautiful day with a slight breeze. I smoked two bowls in my Comey's Billiard. I don't have the educated palate that some of you Brothers are blessed with, so I have no idea what is in the blend. The P&C site describes it as a blend of golden Virginia and black Cavendishes. On the minus side, it doesn't have any particular flavor. On the plus side, it is very, very mild. Not only does it not bite, it won't even gum you very hard. You could smoke it all day, IMHO.

@KA9FFJ
Gorgeous scenery!
Wow, those clouds are very odd indeed. Not sure what to make of it.
Great hat by the way 👍
While relaxing outside with Vinny 😎
I was told that with that hat, all I needed was a bull whip and I would be ready for an "Indiana Jones" movie...😏

Wasn’t a birch topping the flavor of the old VIP codger blend?
You are correct sir...
Great looking pipe!
Have you scheduled a maiden voyage yet?
Besides the whip, you'd need a leather Jacket. Give @Londy3 a walking stick and an acoustic guitar and he could sub for Leon Redbone.
