@Whoispra I would classify it as a stacked Rhodesian, although it deviates from the ‘norm’ by having an oval shank, which is closer to Rhodesian (round shank), than bulldog (diamond shank). Mark Irwin of the Kapp & Peterson book, and the Peterson Pipe Notes blog calls it a “Gaslight” as in the old English type street lamps, which suits it fine. Not really visible in my photo is a somewhat pointed heel, which can lend itself to being called an ‘acorn’ of sorts, definitely a hybrid shape. It took me awhile for it to grow on me….I really like the wide, oval shank. When I first saw the shape, I thought it was the normal round shank. I’m not sure what Peterson calls the shape?
Had a bowl of Pelican followed by the last of my Vauen Sunset Mixture. Paired them with a Tequila Sunrise minus the orange juice, the grenadine, the ice and the garnishes.
Got a dental appointment/check-up this afternoon. On the way home, I think I'll pull out me "The Pipe" bent and smoke whatever is in the pouch in a little jar. It's still fairly moist, but beats the shit out of me what it is.
Smoking a Radice AeroBilliard 33 Reverse Calabash this evening loaded with a hodgepodge of mostly C&D “Exhausted Rooster”, with a little C&D “Bayou Morning”, “Kajun Kake”, “Virginia Flake”, some Newminster “Superior Round Slices” and finally a bit of Lane Limited “BCA”…whew. The first four tobaccos were leftovers from some generous samples sent to me by a fellow TPL brother. There are a bunch of great guys here!
Just finished making the coleslaw for tomorrow's Kentucky Derby get together and now I'm sitting back with Drucquer Levant in a Rob Roy. It seems to be my favorite evening smoke!
@Londy3 I got mine as an estate a few years ago at SPC. I have not seen one in awhile, for awhile there were new ones on the site too. They seem to go in streaks. I like the Radice Silk Cut (sandblasted) pipes too. I just watch for them, on EBay too.
Only time for one bowl yesterday and I was feeling the need for something different. Opened the cellar and found a tin of The Mallard by Dan Tobacco. It's a blend of Golden and Brown Virginias. It smokes well.
Today, I have a MM Apple Diplomat (with a Savinelli 6mm balsa “soaker-upper” instead of the messy Grabow/Medico paper type) loaded with about 25% of my hodgepodge/75% St. Bruno Flake.
@Londy3 There is a new Radice (SilkCut not smooth) Aero Billiard on EBay now. It has a tapered stem instead of a saddle, and it’s a bit taller and longer. It seems more expensive than when they were on SPC a few years ago, but it is a tad larger than mine. It is a Best Offer auction. I don’t know I’f you were interested in the Aero Reverse Calabash, the billiard shape/saddle stem combo, or the finish…or….a more affordable Estate, but here you go.

Thanks for the info and the heads up.

Nice freehand, nicer wife.

That Radice is loaded with some nice grain...
Now enjoying some Chacom St. Claude in a noname reworked billiard...
Sunset Rum in a reworked and restemmed Paronelli:
Love that aerobilliard! Excellent grain. Where can I get one?
