I keep trying to tell everyone it is an ugly pipe that initially should have been thrown away. It was so scratched up, I rusticated it. I had to cut approx. 3/4" of the stem off because it was cracked. I used a lucite sample as a shank extension. The stem was bitten through and beyond repair, so I resized an old stem I had and used it instead. Point is, the whole pipe is just piece-mealed together, but oddly enough, it smokes great...🤔
@KA9FFJ That's fine but you want to migrate to the Northshore area and not crime infested New Orleans. We actually hold our meetings in Metairie which is about five miles from New Orleans.
I found my Samuel Gawith “Full Virginia Flake”, it is loaded in one of my Peterson Natural Amber Spigots, the X220 for this evenings smoke. Just soda water tonight. I normally clench my pipes, and have kinda sharp teeth so I have to be super careful and not clench this amber stem…a tough habit to break.
@RockyMountainBriar when I bought this pipe I didn’t pay any attention to anything. It looked like a pile and was cheap. Now that I’ve grown a little in the hobby I actually do admire the grain. It’s kind of all over the place but that’s what I like about it. I do believe the hole may be drilled just a touch off center but smokes just fine.
I loaded my own handmade pipe earlier with some C&D “Espresso” this evening for a foray into my shop for some pipe making. I just got done, time to relax.
OK, so at the Pipe Show each year, tobaccos that are going to be released are previewed, usually as free and or paid samples, oops did I say free, the FDA does not allow that and tobacco is never free , wink wink.
Going further since I buried myself anyway, some individuals who will not be named explained to me the whole premise behind limited releases, FDA workaround.
So my advise to all TPL members is if it sounds good, buy it while you can get it as it will be gone, and may never be back.
The upside to this tact is the creativity this is generating, I will post further comments under both this and the Chicago Pipe Show threads
I am smoking a new Seattle Pipe Club Blend called DOWN YONDER (pay attention VTgrad and Rockymountainbriar) and all the rest of youse guys (Chicago pronunciation)
The label says (stoved Brazilian leaf) but it's mostly Virginia, very dark in color, It is really friggin good in my opinion, smokes slow ( comes fairly moist but smokes pretty good)
I will be posting about several new Sutliff / Mac Baren / Per Georg Jensen blends that are coming out that are nothing short of fantastic. Brief note for RockyMountainBriar who will be forever known known as RMB from this point forward, most of them contain Latakia, Sorry.

our pipe club meeting.
Used a dremel with different sized rotary burr bits.
That’s a pretty nice looking basket pipe.
Good pairing here 😋
By the time I finish this bowl, it will actually be Tinderbox 2 1/2 Happy Hours...😏
