I just saw another clip if the house that went into the Yellowstone River….It was actually a Four-Plex. I thought it looked pretty big. It also showed the building farther down the river, it went under a bridge and the bridge shaved off the top four feet or so. It was pretty much sticks from there.
Another heat record day here. MAN ITS HOT! No pipe today. This is when I'm glad pipe smoking is a hobby, and not a habit. I see these poor people outside business puffing away on cigarettes and sweating their you-know-whats off, and I actually feel sorry for them. They need to switch to a pipe. But then, I know that's probably wishful thinking..
@KA9FFJ On top of the high temperatures in my little corner of Louisiana, we also had about a 30 minute downpour which made the humidity jump up to 92%. Fortunately, I could sit in the garage with the door open and two fans on which provided enough cooling for a pipe. A tall glass of lemonade with a shot of tequila in it didn't hurt either.
It was 55F nighttime here a day ago, now there are a couple of 94F-97F days forecast…I guess we will see? It would mean more snow melting up high and more water. I went down to the South Bridge over the Yellowstone this evening to take a look. Yep it was as high as I remember back when it flooded when I was a youngster…my brother looked up the stats and it must have been 1974, which sounds right to me, I would have been 10. The water had receded a couple of feet already per my brother, he has to cross that bridge everyday to get to work, so he gets to see it a couple of times a day at least.
Really hot here again today with 74% humidity! I'll wait until tomorrow.🤞🏻 Although @mfresa probably has the right idea concerning an EARLY morning bowl...
Since I can’t “pipe it” at work, I can’t wait for 5 o’clock. I’m giddy with excitement, it will finally be above 90F. I’ll be able to sit on my patio without a jacket🙂
Changed my mind. Decided to take @PappyJoe advice. Sitting on the shady side of the house on the screened-in porch with a ceiling fan on low and some iced lemonade. Opened some 3 year old MacBaren 7 Seas and using a FE-RO Certezza...
Hi again. MY Peterson Kildare bent with some of my Old King Cole mix.
Sorry I've been gone so long, my health issues got the better of me this past year and it took a long time to get back. I hope to be able to attend more.
Cooled down today and WAY less humidity. Finished yard work and now relaxing, before washing my car, with some just opened 5 yr old Sutliff Taste of Summer using my MM Charles Towne. Tip: I've found it takes 4 - 5 yrs of cellaring Sutliff's canned blends to finally reach a close-to right dryness. At least that's been my experience...
I didn’t make it home soon enough after work to smoke on the patio, but I did fire up a bowl of C&D “St. Patrick’s Day Reserve 2022” in my little Musico Billiard nose warmer while playing some WoT Online last night.
Didn't make it outside for a pipe until 8 pm last night - the temperature had finally dropped to 86f. Enjoyed another bowl of Gawith Limited Edition 2015 in my Maestro de Paja as the sun went down. Had a glass of Corsair Dark Rye to go with it.
First pipe of the day in honor of Father’s Day is a Maestro Beraldi my wife presented me for Father’s Day seven years ago. Still working on finishing the Gawith 2015 Limited Edition.
We had our June pipe club meeting last night. I got to try some Haunted Bookshop for the first time (wasn't impressed}. Also had some KBV Moriarity which was pretty good.
We only had nine members show up last night but it was still a good meeting.

92% humidity... 🥵
Too hot here as well. It was actually hotter in my Smoking Shed than it was outside, so no pipe for me either.
I'll wait until tomorrow.🤞🏻

That is one sweet pipe, Brother!
