managed to get the dogs out and have a bowl of Davidoff Danish in that Rattrays Old Gowrie right before the rain hit. Dr.Watson decided to photobomb me.
Smoking an ASPC (Mark Tinsky) #12 from 4/91 loaded with W.O. Larsen “1864”. It’s a rather large pipe, Mark’s size B and it’s also graded as a one star grain wise. It was actually made before he started grading his pipes. After I refurbished it, I sent it to him to stamp it with the grade and size/difficulty nomenclature. I also got a spiffy new ASPC suede leather pipe sock to store it in🙂.
@PappyJoe, I definitely will contact you when I get there. A bowl (or two) will be in order. You might want to PM me your phone number, as I might not be able to post from the hotel.
Smoking some Newminster “Blackberry Brandy” in a Foundation by Musico shorty billiard this evening after a fine tunafish sandwich and a salad for dinner.
@Londy3, same old, since I live further south I don’t get down to Mayfield Hts. much, will be going to Eastlake on Friday, never going back to Collinwood, really bad down there.
@pipeman83; I know you like pipes with KS Bowls. It occurred to me that of all the pipes I have I tend to smoke the big bowls the most. I don't know what that means beyond something we have in common and there are times when I post statements that aren't worth the time it takes to read them.
@pipeman83 When I was a baby my dads family lived in collinwood and my mom's side in Little Italy. We had a house on Caledonia. Later, we built a home in Eastlake and lived my boyhood there. Went to Thomas Jefferson elementary, the middle school next door then on to HS at Willoughby South. Yeah, I'm a rebel 🏍️
loading up my pre Republic Peterson Shamrock with some Irish Oak. This is still one of the best smokers I own. @vtgrad2003 even you have to admit, it's a nice looking pipe 😂
Doing some Lane BCA in totally reworked pipe I was given at the St. Louis pipe show...(check it out on the Pipe Refinishing thread, page 53 + a couple more pages)...
@opipeman when I was a kid my great grandfather had the same exact pipe holder. About a year ago I found it at a local antique shop. It's made by a company called syroco in Syracuse NY, they took wood pulp mixed it with some sort of resin or glue and stuffed it into molds. I guess it was popular during the depression.

Nice grain showing and cool stem. I like those better than just boring black.
Welcome back!
You definitely need a bigger pipe though.
Nice. Look forward to seeing it
Glad you are back!
You may be in luck. If my inventory is up to date, I have an unopened tin of Acadian English and Acadian VaPer.
Another incentive for you to meet up with me when you come down.
Really nice pipes, Brothers.
So how is everything in my old stomping grounds?

I will agree
I'm confused by your latest post to me. Was it meant for @pipeman83?
That is a fine example of a classic shape. I also like the pipe holder, it has to be an antique. Any idea of it's vintage?
