Doing outside projects all day in this heat. Cooled down just enough that I decided to do some Sutliff Sunset Rum in my MM Emerald on the front porch while I contribute a good pickled jalapeno recipe ( really works for all peppers) on the hobby thread...
Sitting at home smoking a bowl of The Untouchables in my RD Powell Bent Billiard. I was supposed to meet up with an unnamed forum member in New Orleans for something work related. But he decided he’d rather drive to Texas instead. I won’t say who, but his name starts @mfresha.
C&D “Espresso” in my newly refurbed Air-Vent pipe. It had a stinger, but I took it out….way too much gurgle. I always try them first with their stingers in place. The only stingers that work for me consistently have been the Yello-Bole scoop style.
Wife is out of town, kids are all in bed, and there may not be any better combination than about four fingers of Jim beam and some CS Rivendell in a cob to end the night.
@Londy3 I don’t think burley tastes like cigarettes, but then again, I don’t smoke cigarettes. Burley does not smell like burning cigarettes to me either. Personally, I prefer burley, Perique, and orientals over virginias.
Burley is the primary tobacco used in the production of cigarettes but there are differences in how burley is processed for cigarettes as opposed to burley for pipes.
Still, burley is burley and I would assume the aroma would be similar.
The nasty cigarette smell I hate probably comes from the papers or other chemicals used in production? I was looking for US cigarette brand tobacco mixes and it looked like most were a blend of Burley and Bright Virginia, with some air-cured, and others flue-cured depending on manufacturer, (“fresh” or “toasted” catch words used by the mfg. in their advertising depending on which curing method is used) with a touch of turkish/oriental.

Looks as if your getting some mileage out of that lid. I like it...👍🏻
It matched my shirt.
In addition to the green, I have a grey, beige, red leather and a red/green plaid.
Now THAT'S a pipe!
😁
Now relaxing on the screened-in back porch doing some Half & Half in a reworked Darbey prince...
LL7 in the ol cob along with some Carolina brewing Sky Blue. Yum!
Hey, is that tobacco like cigarettes? Seems heavy burley tobaccos are, just wanted your opinion

I thinks I'll join you. Livin the dream, blessed by God, and handsome as the devil.

Real nice.
My thoughts exactly that's why I was asking. I don't smoke cigarettes, never did, never will.
Funny, I don't consider myself a smoker at all either. I just like a pipe now and again.
