@Zouave; That is so awesome that you found something that brought back such a dear memory. Now when you use it you will think of your Great Grandfather.
@opipeman thank you sir. I think Rattrays is one of those sleeper brands that don't get as much notice as they deserve. I haven't been disappointed with a single one yet and the prices are decent.
@KA9FFJ; Same heat issue here in central Iowa. Best to stay indoors in the A/C. I thought maybe it was my age that made it so sapping, but people much younger are wilting. Get outside work done early and stay hydrated seems to be the best way to go.
It’s pretty nice here, some rain and overcast, then sunny. I grilled a couple of burgers for dinner and had a “Bandito” little cigar afterwards.
Problem is, the rain is melting the snow and we have flooding in Red Lodge, Livingston, Corwin Springs, and here in Billings too. My buddy over in Rockvale, downstream from Red Lodge, was frantically sandbagging his place. It was just a few years ago that the Rock Creek flooded and nearly got his place. He and his neighbors and the Government added several thousand/million? dollars of rock to shore up the bank to keep it from washing out. I have not found out how it is going for him. It sounds like the water is suppose to peak sometime in the next few days.
@Londy3 Yes, the snow in the mountains. Luckily the temperature dropped last night, it got down around 55F here in Billings. In the mountains up high it probably got below freezing and the rain let up so the snow isn’t melting as quickly today. My friend at Rockvale said the Rock Creek did overflow the bank slightly downstream from his house and shop (think 25-50 yards or so) but so far, his sandbags were holding the water back, keeping it at bay. There is a video of a house being swept away down the Yellowstone River in Gardiner, Montana on the net somewhere. It must have been built pretty solid too because it just upends over the bank like the Titanic and floats away down river in one (pretty much) solid piece.
I linked one view of it. It’s not a cabin either, it’s a decent sized house. Probably 1800-2000 sq.ft., maybe bigger, it’s two stories. I wonder how far down river it will make it in one piece…probably get hung on a bridge…. or how many pieces of it float past Billings in the coming weeks🤔
Smoking some “BCA”, it’s been awhile since I had this tobacco. Loaded and smoking the third pipe I made. I made it way back in June 2016, the second pipe made on my lathe.

No harm, it is easy to see how that could happen, Brother.
Bengal Slices in my Savinelli piazza de spanga
Yeah! Maybe I am 🤪
☕ Is that C&D Espresso really like coffee? ☕
No, not at all…at least to me, but it is tasty. Kinda like BCA, but not.
Sweet pipe, Brother!

Snow? It's freaking June!
You must be talking about the mountains then right?

Oh, btw I think Billings has had snow in June, nothing that stuck around long though.
Nice looking pipes, Brothers!
