One thing that bothers me is jarring this HH for the future. It is so perfect and beautiful in the tin it's close to a sin to take it out and put it in a jar. Of course, some things have to be done, but what a shame.
Incidentally, is it me or does the aroma scream Beef Jerky?
Just finished a bowl of another one of Russ' Monthly Blends ... "Kaleidoscope". And as is the case with all of the aromatic Russ Monthly blend ... it's fantastic. I sat out in the blazing sun soaking up some Vitamin D and working on my tan. Smoking in one of my antique store finds that I did a half-ass restoration on. I'm going to have to take a photo of it and see if anyone can help me identify the pipe. I can barely read the name inscribed on the pipe but got it from the same store where I found my old Custombilt - and it came from the same gentleman who sold off his entire collection.
Needed to get away from the terrible news of the London terrorist attack so I opted for a little horror of an unreal nature by watching one of those "Underworld" vampire/werewolf movies and smoking my Dr. Grabow Starfire. And in it another P&C Russ' Monthly Blend ... "The Taxman Cometh".
If it doesn't rain -- and it has rained at least once a day or overnight for a week now, and it rained a lot before that; I have to mow front and rear lawns at least weekly, and it's not like there's a lot of sun, but it's been warm, mostly -- I'm gonna be on the rear deck with a Carey and a bowl of the blessed Mrs. Hudson's.
Sitting out in the blazing sun before the mosquito population realizes I'm here, soaking up more of that Vitamin D as well as solar radiation and smoking a Latakia blend ... Captain Black "Black Sea". I've got out another of my old reliable basket work pipes which has been used and abused but still smokes like a dream. Use this one primarily for the few Latakia blends I pull out from time-to-time.
Starting my day with a bowl of Half and Half in a Country Gent. The Kentucky Club Mild I got in the Christmas exchange prompted a re-exploration of codger burleys. Burleys and cobs and summertime always seem right to me.
