Another easy start to the day, with Lane RR in my new Cayuga. Dunno if it's tapered enough to be a brandy. I think it's just about ready for the regular rotation.
Because I did not want the topic "Aromatic Smoker Only Please" to be sidetracked I will share my comment here, plus it's what I had for my postprandial smoke.
Professor Ghost mentioned the layer-caking technique, so I wanted to try out a new recipe, but not with aromatics. I layered Dark Strong Kentucky, Golden Sliced and topped it off with another layer of Dark Strong, to make my Orlik Oreo. Must say it was quite tasty although if you're a Golden Sliced Fan (count me one) you will be somewhat let down because that is not the star of that show, in fact, it was somewhat overmatched.
All and all it was actually better than I thought it would be.
Enjoying this surprisingly cool morning in Houston (60°), by smoking some Orlik Golden Sliced, while reading the Scriptures, and drinking a nice cup of Cuvée El Palmo Ecuadorian coffee that I made in my Chemex. Delightful spring morning to say the least
This morning I smoked a bowl of McClelland 5100, in my Iwan Ries Momento Pipe which is actually a rusticated Savinelli 824 KS
Yesterday I enjoyed a house blend from a tobacconist located in Eureka Springs Arkansas (basically Lane 1Q as far as I can tell), in my estate Kaywoodie bent bulldog shape 99b.
Feeling a bit like a religious Sicilian Hobbit today so I'm smoking an Italian Churchwarden and puffing Holy Smoke Rings. Inside the bowl I'm smoking P&C Russ' Monthly Blend "Warm Up" - one of my favorite blends.
Did a bit of blend stacking in my Big Ben Fantastia Pipe today ... bottom layer of Panama Jack Key Lime, middle layer of my experimental Dreamsicle blend ... and a top layer of even more Panama Jack Key Lime. A bit of a citrus delight. Proved to be a very nice smoke. Sadly I've added so much to the original recipe of my Dreamsicle Blend that I serious doubt I'll ever be able to replicate it. So I'm making it last as long as I can. And after today's smoke I discovered the perfect way to stretch it since it goes so well with the Pamana Jack Key Lime.
