I agree that a pipeful of tasty tobacco can calm the mind and lead to a meditative experience. Often my mind quiets and experiences peace. My wife will ask what I'm staring at and I don't know how to explain everything and nothing so it's usually just a tree in the distance after all it is everything and nothing.
@Balisong And if you get any criticism, you can always say that the theory of relativity was developed by a person who was experiencing "everything and yet nothing" simultaneously... 😑🙄🤯😲
We have our grandkids (6 & 9) all this week and next week, which includes online learning and homework... I am here to attest that I am NOT doing this for my sanity... Just the opposite... 🤯
I fear for my sanity when it's time to take down the Christmas decorations. That's about the saddest time of the year. The house currently looks so festive that it's difficult to walk around with a scowl on your face. And makes me almost forget the fact that I've been under Covid House Arrest for more than nine months. But once we start taking down the tree and all the other decorations that makes the interior of the house look like some kind of North Pole gingerbread cottage- that's when the Holiday Magic comes to an end. I've been tempted for years to leave the Christmas Tree up all year long just to retain some of that Christmas Spirit throughout the year.
@ghostsofpompeii I'm leaving a small portion of my outside Christmas lights up through the rest of winter. It cheers me up, and given 2020, I'll take what I can get...
Do like a lot of people in New Orleans and just change the decorations for the "season". I know people who leave the Christmas Tree up until January 6 and then redecorate it for Mardi Gras. On Ash Wednesday, they change it to St. Patrick's Day and after that it becomes the Easter Tree. That is followed by the Memorial Day/July 4th Tree, Labor Day Tree, Halloween Tree and then Christmas Tree again.

You’d be better off with a bottle in front of ye, than a frontal lobotomy......
I think it’s safe to recommend @motie2 ‘s solution.🥃 You can stop drinking, but a lobotomy...there’s no coming back from that😳
You need something to occupy your thoughts. In my experience, having a Foley catheter really focuses one’s attention.
I think I'll stick with reworking pipes and making pipe racks...

Agreed. That's why I'll take the last remaining outside lights down at the end of February...
Thanksgiving get's left out for some reason.
