@RockyMountainBriar I suppose I would have been even more concerned about myself if I would have made the same one over, and over, and over, and... you get the idea... 🤪

I'm using this time to update and redesign all my Ghosts Of Pompeii CD covers. I've pretty much decided if I ever sell the music again it will be digital downloads, so I'm pretty much creating these new CD covers for myself using a combination of copyright artwork located on the web and designs of my own (meaning I'll never sell or release this collection for for public consumption - probably couldn't afford to pay the artist copyright fees). It's just been little more than an exercise in graphic arts for my own gratification. The original CDs had a simplistic title card with something written on the backside - but now I've created the type of four page booklet that comes with professionally manufactured CDs. But should I opt to sell the CDs as physical media I always have the original artwork to fall back on. But if I decide to release the music again I'm leaning towards digital download for the simplicity.
I also took this time to re-master and tighten the playlist on each CD by deleting what I now consider to be weaker tracks and replacing them with the strongest tracks from my first two CDs. By cannibalizing the first two and deleting them from my catalog I ended up making the over all quality of the remaining seven CDs something I'm proud of. I exorcised those few problematic filler tracks from each CD that I always had second thoughts about. Second thoughts that led me to focus my attention on the creation and marketing of a killer compilation.
The pandemic changed all that. Instead of focusing all my attention on the creation of the ultimate 'Best Of' compilation, I realized there was a lot of good material that would never be heard. And as many musicians know, when putting together a project (especially a concept album) you strive to make an album that flows as one song transitions into the next. While with a 'Best Of' compilation ... although it might contain your strongest material ... the transition from one track to the next can be pretty jarring - because a 'Best Of' compilation is more of an audio snapshot showcasing a variety of styles, letting the listener know that the artist can't be pigeon-holed into one genre.
But after multiple listens and re-appraising the nine albums I realized each one had a distinct personality. So rather than simply cut out the guts of each album for my ultimate 'Ghosts Of Pompeii' compilation, I'd take the time the pandemic provided me with to polish the remaining seven into something equally as entertaining from start to finish as an ultimate compilation album.
Sounds like I'm getting all serious about marketing and distribution - but I'm not. At this point in my life the music is more of a hobby than career. Marketing isn't even on my radar. And In the past few years I've probably given away more CDs than sold. Some people paint pictures or take photographs with no thought of selling them. And while some talented craftsmen have made a career marketing quality Artisian pipes to sell ... other hobbyists are content to create pipes for their private collection. This ... as the subject of the post suggests ... is just something I'm doing to maintain any semblance of sanity during the lock-down.
@motie2 That's a good question. I remember @PappyBadger being on here back in 2016, but he just kinda disappeared. I believe he's one of the faithful listeners to Country Squire.
As for how I'm staying sane at the moment, I'm disconnecting from social media for the time being. I'm going to put my attention towards better things for now, until the powers that be stop forcing only one correct way of thought. I'll still be posting on here, though.

Nice, really nice!
I like that they are all different. Different strokes for different folks

It would be pretty awesome to go to the store like that. I wonder if people would stay 6 feet away from me?

Will you marry me?
SWMBO warned me about that.
😳 Do you sleep with one eye open? 🙂
No.
"Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight
Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to never never-land"
Are you sure that was for me?
What's a pappybadger?
This is the ThisPipeLife version of autocorrect.
Well, he didn't stay around very long.
