it has created more work for me because our dojo is closed and our church isn't meeting, so i actually have to cook meals now i've been reading, crocheting, and when it isn't raining or too hot (it's high 80s today, yuck!) i sit out with a pipe and a book.
@cobprincess Welcome to the forum. It's currently 82 degrees in my little corner of SE Louisiana which is warm but we have an unseasonably low 32% humidity right now. Makes sitting out with a pipe quite enjoyable.
@PappyJoe I’m getting kind of low...Yep that’s 141.8 barrel proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.......wish I had more. I guess it would help to remember to post the picture the first time.
in the last 25 days since leaving our AZ home we've put on 3700 miles stopping in 14 states and I'm on day 13 of a sort of quarantine since we returned from NJ/NYC. Knock wood so far so good.
Here at home in WI I normally live an isolated life so not much has changed for me but mrslax is ready to get back with her friends and family. I have endless house and yard work to keep me busy but I still walk 6 miles a day on the streets and paved walking trails to kill time.
@cobprincessWELCOME! Out of all the down sides you mentioned, I'd say a pipe with a book outweighs them all... except for church. Our church live streams or prerecords the worship services and our Bible Class meets via ZOOM. Everyone gets to see everyone, have a lesson, then socialize after... better than nothing...
@PappyJoe Here in Billings, we average 55% humidity. They say it’s the humidity that is bad...well in the summer it usually gets above 100F in the summer for a few days.......but it’s a dry heat 😬
@PappyJoe no! Not yet it was a rainy weekend and now I'm back to dad's home school schedule. As soon as I can sneak off for a few I'll try that out. I can't wait though!!
@PappyJoe Your commentary on the low humility In Louisiana gave me a chuckle.
I have an old shipmate who lives in the quarter and is a musician, I used to go down every year for the jazz and heritage fest back in the 80s & 90s.
During one of these visits we woke up and the sky was super blue and the humidity had disappeared over night and Frank said to me "lets get going, because we don't get weather like this ever"
My wife and I visited the shoreline Sunday. It was the first time I ventured outside of my home for six straight days. Work keeps me busy but never leaving the house ain't fun. I'm trying to avoid my local B&M cigar lounge which is subject to the quarantine, but the owner will let you hang out in the lounge if it's just you and maybe one other. This solitary life is not to my liking.
I’m currently a partial invalid so not leaving the house is not a new thing. Every day is the same...... just another day in which I didn’t use algebra.
@motie2 Sorry about your physical state, I joined the ranks of the disabled over a decade ago. Luckily we have a few acres that gets me outside and keeps me moving. I try to use algebra and apply geometry regularly! Today I did some stats.
Rather than start a new thread, on a more serious note, things are going a bit off the rails here in old NY. Stay safe fellow Piper's. Keep safe, stay healthy and happy smokes every one.
@Zouave Yea, you guys really have it bad up there. Illinois isn't much better. I'm beginning to feel like a bear in hibernation. The ONLY 2 things working for me is my family's still healthy, and I still can enjoy most of my hobbies right here at the house (including my pipes and tobaccos)...🙏
So I found out yesterday that one of the fireman on the same rotation I work had to go get tested for Covid-19. He's presenting all the symptoms and has a extremelly high fever. We have come to the conclusion he was exposed on a wreck we worked last week. Which since we were all on scene we were technically all exposed. Not to mention how closely we work with those guys I've been around him several times since then. We still haven't heard from the test results yet. Having a new baby at home I'm sitting on pins and needles right now wondering if I have this crap and just aren't showing signs yet. I don't want to spread it to my family but at this point its been a week since we were first "exposed". So odds are they have it if I have it at this point.
@Londy3 Careful, you're going to cause a shortage of Spam in Hawaii.
Seriously, there are a lot of things for sell to eat in grocery stores than Spam. Smoked oysters, vegan burgers, dairy free ice cream, tripe, anything on the health food aisle ...
@Londy3 If his test comes back positive then I will be tested.... Along with my family, my whole shift, and the whole fire department. He still hasn't gotten his results back yet.

120+ proof liquor....that’s the cure😬. Tough to find though.
My son can find 120+ proof but he lives in the Northeast corner of Tennessee, if you know what I mean.
I drinking 90 proof bourbon at the moment.

I can't remember the last time we had humidity this low. Normally it's between 75 and 100%.

Have you tried the tobacco I sent?

Praying hard for you and your family.
I just lost one of the three attendants at our 1969 wedding, a classmate..... and the dean of our seminary is hospitalized, both from Covid-19.
