I placed an order with Esterval's in Germany last year and with Covid restrictions it took six weeks for the order to arrive. A month later they started having all types of shipping problems and they eventually stopped shipping to the U.S. for awhile. The shipping was through the German postal system and then through the U.S. Post Office. Turns out the Post Office was just rejecting the packages.
About six weeks ago, Esterval's tried sending a package to another pipe smoker using DHL Express. That worked and since then multiple orders have been shipped from Germany to the U.S. successfully.
On May 30, I decided to make an order. I was given an estimated delivery date of Tuesday, June 15. I received notification this morning that my package is on a delivery truck enroute to my house.
Shipping cost was $47.00 for roughly 2.3 lbs. of tobacco.
@motie2 I've spent half my life just north of Boston and the rest in southern New Hampshire. I bought my first tin of tobacco, Virginia No 1, at the Peretti store at the ripe old age of 16. A nice walk across Boston Public Garden and Boston Common was Ehrlich's. A long walk to Harvard Square landed at Leavitt and Piece which was anti climatic since they were related to Ehrlich, but at the time the best beer was on tap at the Wursthaus.
Ah, memories. I remember ordering Harvard Yard pipe tobacco from Leavitt and Peirce (or was it Ehrlich's?) back in the Sixties, when I was in seminary in Cincinnati.
Checking out L&P's website (which did not exist back in the day) I find their Black Coffee pipe tobacco enticing. We'll see......
@Balisong my sister is in Boston and shops at peretti for her job, so I tell her what I want from there and she picks it up for me. Then drops it off when she visits. I love the 150th. Blend and Blend #432
@motie2 That was probably Leavitt and Pearce. They had some of the same blends like Black and Gold or Dark Honey. Others were named according to the location. Erlich blends were more State House and Faneuil Hall and the like. @Zouave They have free shipping for orders over $100. If your sister pays any sales tax it might be cheaper to order direct. 150th was good and I believe 432 is Burley based, which I won't try. I did order Midnight which has Perique, another that I avoid but it's so subtle in the blend that I haven't objected to it. Tashkent is unique and this batch has a nice sweet note.
I swore I wasn't going to buy any more pipe tobacco til I made a considerable dent in my cellar - but with all this talk of flavored tobacco blends being banned in the near future - and the fact that Pipes&Cigars was having a Flash Sale on certain items in their catalog, I just put in an order for three different blends from Cult ... "Cult Profile" (one tin), "Cult Militia" (3 tins), and "Cult Anonymous (2 tins). All the tins are on sale for the next few days for $4.99. I've tried "Cult Militia" and enjoyed it - the other two I haven't.
@Balisong the 432 is a Cavendish and Virginia blend with a bit of a cocoanut flavor. I'll have to give some of the others you mentioned a try. Thanks for the heads up.
I too enjoy some of the blends from The Country Squire, best so far is Rivendell and Indan Outlaw. I need to place a follow-up order so I can try Second Breakfast and a few others
Just recieved a Peterson Harp lighter and a couple of ounces each of Sutliff's straight Virginias; 507-S Stoved Virginia, 515 RC-1, and, 707 Sweet Virginia. I took advantage of tobaccopipes.com 15% off accessories sale for the lighter. Off to jar the tobaccos.

It’s real good, and so is the Bourbon Barrel blend by the same company.
Awesome! Thanks for your comment on it. I ordered the bourbon aged blend. I can't wait to try it.
Two real tasty blends, but for very special circumstances, as they are a tad pricey… for me, anyway.
I agree, they are pricey. This is my birthday gift for myself 🎂😁
Well, then, happy birthday young fella!

Tough life having Peretti’s as your local B&M.
