Only bummer is that the Partagas tin was open. Sent them a message.  We'll see how they handle this.

Very nice my friend! You’ll have to come over soon. I have a certified English and some other goodies with Perique, Turkish ribbon, etc I’ve made for the club. The seasonal newsletter needs to be finished, but I may send out some samplers first.

It's funny this topic came up, I finally found a local smoke shop that had some Codger Blends allowing me to use the $5.00 off coupons I received as a birthday gift. So I picked-up a package of Captain Black Round, Captain Black Royal, and Palladian Black Cherry. This is the first shop where I was actually able to find the complete line of Captain Black blends. Usually all the places carry are the regular white package. Still have a coupon left for Sir Walter Raleigh and hoping to find some in my travels. It's not like I'm hard up for tobacco ... but when I get a coupon for $5.00 off, I'm taking advantage of it.

@buflosab My favorite blend from Russ is "Warm Up". I've tried nearly all his aromatics and they are all great - but that's my favorite.

@ghostsofpompeii, I agree, not to many of Russ blends I don't like. When I first started ordering from P&C, somehow I was drawn to purchasing Russ blends, and never looked back. Pretty much stayed with his blends for a couple of years, shortly after joining TPL and listening to members describe the blends they like, I decided to branch out a bit, still nice to go back to the old reliables.

@mfresa - I’ll be honest, Kingsfoil Is probably my least favorite of all the Country Squire blends I’ve tried. Burns hot and not super flavorful. Bag End is a great Scottish Blend (Virginia rich) and Cornishman is second only to Frog Morton as far as English blends. Old Toby is a great aromatic with Perique. I also really like Meriwether.

@jfreedy, thanks I was afraid Kingsfoil didn't have enough depth for me, and you have confirmed that.  Since McClelland closed shop, I think other blenders are going to have a hard time recreating some of the old recipes.  I still have some Green Dragon (just smoked some), and I'm going to really miss it when it's gone.

@mfresa - unfortunately I never got the chance to smoke Green Dragon. I hear it’s really nice. Isn’t it a Virginia based blend? Aromatic?

A while back I received from Lane 2 coupons for my birthday giving me $2 off each for 2 pipe tobacco pouches. I went to a local B&M and, using them I purchased 1 HALF and HALF, and 1 Sir Walter Raleigh Aro for a total of $6 bucks.
Has anyone else here received "birthday coupons" from Lane?

Cool bonus lighter and I was also the second order filled in the new location! Pretty cool I think

@KA9FFJ, I received two those birthday coupons from Lane last month.  Still have them and the ones from last year.  I will use them if I come across a shop that sells the tobacco and accepts the coupons.  If not, they are great keepsakes that may be a collectable some day, much like an old tobacco coupon from yesterday.

@ChaplainCorey I love the blend names ... Shepard's Pie, Hunting Creek, and Northwest Trek. I'm not one for English blends but they sure sound appealing and outdoorsy.
