@mfresa last year I ordered enough to get me through a full year. Almost gone now. Have you tried the other Christmas blend they make cordial friends? I didn't care for it as much.
@RockyMountainBriar You might be surprised at just how many Name brand blends are made by Kohlhase & Kopp - Ashton, Astley, Fribourg & Treyer, James Fox, Robert McConnell, Rattray, and Vauen are just a few. (I forgot, they also make a lot of the Peterson blends.)
Dan Tobacco (DTM) also does a number of different brands.
@mfresa don't get me wrong, it's not a bad blend it just doesn't compare to the figgy pudding. I couldn't really pick up on the fruit and liquor notes. It was Mello to the point of being a bit underwhelming. That's just my take, I am by no means any sort of expert. Far from it. I'll have to give it another fair try, I might like it more now that it's sat on the shelf for a while.
@Zouave, I'll probably pass on it as I'm not a big fan of Cavendish. However, some of the German manufacturers have a handful of Christmas blends. I'll see if I can scare up the video from Bremen Pipe Smoker.
Hopefully tomorrow I can find the new C & D blend coming out tonight beyond something or other otherwise maybe my B&M will get a few cans in a week or so. Hope hope!!!!
@Scottrw Unfortunately for me, I just saw that blend (From Beyond) and it has latakia and perique in it; I can't stand either. Oh well, onward and upward!
As I am new to this whole thing. I have been trying or storing for later anything I can get my hands on with in reason. I enjoy collecting, as much as smoking. That said I don’t mind Latakia. I prefer as little as nicotine as possible so perique in small amounts. I was able to get a tin this morning along with purple cow. ( o my wife will be thrilled with me) lol
I made another order from Esterval's. Five tins of The Untouchables. (I first ordered two tins in May and am almost though the second tin. I decided that as weird as cedar/floral flavoring sounds, I really liked it.) Rattray's Tower Bridge (fruit, citrus, rum & vanilla) Kohlhase & Kopp Meistermischung Nr. 22 (Cherry) Kohlhase & Kopp Winter Edition 2021(waffle, vanilla and caramel) Ratrray's Winter Edition 2021 (Maraschino cherry) and, Kohlhase & Kopp Limited Edition Casino Royal (Maraschino cherry, cocoa, pistachio and pink pepper)
There's a lot of cherry in this order but I have high hopes since I've never been disappointed by a Kohlhase & Kopp blend.
I made the order on Thursday. It arrived today. So, only five days for me. It was about the same last Spring.
Some people thinks the shipping by DHL express is too expensive. I paid $40 for shipping. If you only order one or two tins, it would be too much. I ordered 10 tins, so that made it $4 per tin. Even adding that to the price per tin is less expensive than walking into a local B&M.
It's worthwhile for the quality of what you order, but you must have a rather large order (IMHO but I'm a skinflint on a short leash) to make it worth the shipping total.
@jfreedy If you just look at it as shipping, then yes, it looks expensive.
The way I do it is to divide the shipping cost by the number of tins I buy and add that to the cost of the tin. My last purchase was 10 tins (five 50g tins, five 100g tins). That broke down to $4.00 per tin. The five 50g tins was basically $14 per tin ($10.35 for the tin + $4.00 shipping) for a high quality blend I can't find in the U.S.. Thats a couple of dollars more expensive than the average price of some online retailers but still affordable. And, depending on how much you buy online you would still have to pay shipping costs.
The 100g tins I bought $14.87, $16.78, $21.30, $24.64, $25.90 before adding the $4.00 per tin shipping costs. So the price ranged basically $19 to $30 per tin. But, the blends I bought are not available in the U.S. and there are a lot of European blends listed as "out of stock" at online retailers who normally carry them.
Some blends may actually be cheaper and more available at Esterval's. Three Nuns, for example, is $16.25 for a 50g tin at one of the online retailers. At Esterval's it is currently $10.41 before shipping.
These price comparisons are for online retailers. When you compare Esterval's plus shipping to B&M prices, it is definitely cheaper.
All that being said, if it's a blend available in the U.S., I still buy it from a U.S. retailer.
@PappyJoe I’m sorry that I missed your question, brother. But yes, as @motie2 answered I got it from MM’s website. I believe that they may still have some left, but I’ve not checked their website in a few weeks. They did have it still in stock as of a few weeks ago.
I ran up to Humidour on the Hill in Cockysville last night, and found that they had a couple of tins of Esoterica’s Tilbury and one tin of Margate in stock. I was the last customer before they closed Saturday night so if anyone reading this and lives nearby there are two tins of Tilbury remaining.
And since it is the Season to be Spooky I snagged this lovely Peterson Dracula (x105) for myself. I didn’t really have the money to spare this week, but I’m having throat surgery on the 29th; doctors think that I may have throat cancer and so they’re gonna remove my left lymph node in my neck and biopsy that bad boy. I’m a bit worried, more than a bit stressed (I have to miss work for an entire week plus another four days before the surgery for a stupid quarantine after a negative Covid test); this means that I’m gonna have to go almost two darn weeks without a real paycheck. I think that I can use Short-Term Disability, but that’s only 70% of my regular pay and that just sucks. Soooo I shouldn’t have bought it but I consider it to be a gift to myself. It’s the second Dracula in my collection now; I bought my super-sweet Dracula 999 (bent rhodesian) a couple of years ago. The only holidays that I love more than Halloween is Christmas and Easter, and I just love these blood-red stems on the Dracula. I think that I will try to make buying a new Peterson Dracula a yearly thing for however many years that I have left.
Y’all know I have a serious tendency to ramble on and on, so here’s a pic and I’ll shut up now. But if you’re in the area you can snatch those two tins of Tilbury if you get to Humidour on the Hill this morning when they open! I believe that you could also just call them to buy them over the phone and they’ll ship them out to you, but don’t quote me on that. Later!

Who is pappybadger?
You know, one of those guys that pop up when Pappy is auto-filled.

Hmmm..."German" "Christmas" "scare up"...sounds like Krampus to me LOL
That would be a great name for a tobacco in fact!
here is a few of what Bremen Pipe Smoker reviewed for last year's Christmas editions. Keep in mind he is in Germany.

Yep, the Latakia in the “From Beyond” killed it for me, probably a good thing, I didn’t need to spend more money on this hobby right now.

A mouthwatering order to be sure!
Nice!
You'll have to give us a quick review of each one.
