I think it's really good. I'm not much of an aromatic smoker so I'm certainly not an authority on it, but, it's the only blend I've found where you can actually taste apple in it, and I'm not talking about that fake Jolly Rancher apple flavor that some blends have, but real apple. It's also not goopy at all and the tobacco flavor really comes through as well.
@vtgrad2003 I have been on the look since drew estates quit making harvest on hudson it was the best apple tobacco I have had sadly I only had a few tins that are gone.
Some of those were out of stock before I read the email! Enjoy and report on the blends, my favorite is Balkan Mixture which the seem to be well stocked.
@Zouave I'll have to dig three my "cellar" and see if I still have some We Three Kings. It first came out around 2014. For a few years I was buying multiple tins of the C&D Christmas offerings. You'll have to give us a review.
Edit: I checked. I don't have any We Three Kings left. I do have one tin of Corn Cob Pipe & A Button Nose (2016), two tins of Golden Days of Yore (2017) and three of Jolly Old St. Nicholas (2018)
@PappyJoe once I open it I'll be sure to do that. Going to hold off till it's closer to Christmas. Kind of wish I grabbed two tins. One to keep for a bit
@Zouave Country Squire makes some good house blends but I haven't smoked any recently. The reason I have so many of the C&D Christmas blends left is because I discovered the Rattray's Winter Editions which lead me to the Kohlhase & Kopp and Dan Tobacco aromatics. Kohlhase & Kopp makes just about all of the Rattray's blends.
Anyway, IN MY OPINION, the winter/holiday blends produced in Denmark are superior to the ones I've had produced in the U.S. Not knocking C&D but the Danish aromatics seem to be more flavorful and less goopy.
Agreed @PappyBadger. The three Rattray’s aromatics I’ve been privileged to try have been superior to almost any American blended aro. I believe it’s both the quality of the blend and the complete absence of — what is it? — propylene glycol? (sp?) Some kind of goopy humectant….
Interesting🤔. I find C&D aromatic blends about the same as Dan Tobacco, Vauen, Kohlase & Kopp, Rattray’s, W. O. Larsen. The O.T.C.’s from Lane/STG and some of their bulk aros are somewhat moist, but most smoke well for me. The absolute consistently “goopiest”, overly wet, PPG soaked?, tongue biting tobaccos are all of the Sutliff “canned” blends that I have tried, which is about fifteen different cans/blends. Funny, the oft derided Mixture No. 79 is one that I like, although it is a bit moist and needs a bit of drying time. I am a fan of burley tobacco though.
@Zouave, agree that Figgy Pudding is a good Christmas blend. Believe it or not, I think it ages pretty well also. Mine is a couple of years old and provides a pleasurable smoke.

Wow, that’s quite an eclectic haul!
May we expect reports, especially on the two Gawith Hoggarth?
And may I ask where you shopped?
Nice haul.
May we expect some brief reviews of such a nice selection?
Thank you. And reports/reviews?
Mmm, I love that Newminster Navy Flake, good choice🙂
