Welcome to the newest members! Hope you guys jump in and enjoy the discussions. @TroutWhisperer @Michael308 @Danfriedman - I have sons in Portland and make my way up often. Love the vibe and spend much of my time there hiking with a pipe in hand! Would love to know about pipe/tobacco shops in the area.
Hi, all, I just found these forums and joined. My name is Michael. I’m 58 and a Registered Nurse in Mississippi. I just started puffing a tobacco pipe and find it very relaxing, especially with a good cup of coffee. I started with Captain Black Cherry and the Grape flavor. They are pleasant to smoke and leaves a great aroma in the room. Glad to be here and look forward to participating in these forums.

I only just noticed this page, my name is John, i am 96 and a three time widow.
I live with my grandson in the Denver area and it is he that signed me up for this forum in his effort to get me to do something other than watch TV bless his heart.
Don't really know anything about computers and such and I am not to sure this is for me but since he made the effort I feel duty bound to give it a try.
I have smoked a pipe for about 70 years or so, I picked up the habit shortly after the war.
My last wife worked very hard to get me to stop smoking by hiding my pipes when I was in the hospital did not work but I only found three of them and she died shortly after.
I don't smoke every day now but when I get out I do.
Read some of this stuff ok he told me they are called threads and I will say some of it is interesting.
I usually smoke sir walter but recently my grand son gave me some 1q which I thought was pretty good.
Well bless your heart! Welcome! We look forward to sharing the many joys of pipe smoking with you. Any questions? Just ask; someone will help you. Also check out the FREE PIPE SMOKING LIBRARY folder which ( that? ) I curate. Tell me what you want and I'll post it for your downloading convenience. Again, wellcome, sir!
@pieyedpiper - Welcome to the group. Anytime you see one of us youngsters go astray, feel free to whack us alongside the head and set us straight. Hopefully you will find more of your pipes.
I don't smoke many of the old drugstore blends like Sir Walter or Prince Albert anymore but I do have a jar of George Washington that I dip into every now and then. My grandfather was a pipe smoker and that's all he smoked until the stopped making in the the 1970s.
Welcome, @pieyedpiper! We are honored to have you on this forum. My Grandfather (also a pipe smoker) would have been your age. I’m looking forward to hearing your perspective.
