@KA9FFJ That is my Thomas Cristiano Signature Series pipe. He worked at the S. M. Frank factory in Long Island, New York He worked at that factory, which producing Kaywoodie pipes, among others, for a decade before leaving and eventually starting his own company, Cristom Imports and Exports, in Tampa, Florida. In addition to producing three pipe lines of his own, including the Cristiano, Cristiano Signature Series, and Calabresi pipes, Mr. Cristiano is believed to have made the Kaywoodie pipes in Tampa from the mid-1980s until approximately 1992. He was also one of the nation's most respected humidor makers.
@DSturg369; I have some Prince Albert and Lane's 1Q, I think I'll try your 50/50 mixture. Both those Tobacs are good by themselves, so they got to be good mixed.
I took a Rob Roy filled with GLP Kensington on a quick trip to the grocery store and after a couple of bunches of grapes I'm finishing the pipe along with coffee.
I pulled out these two Dr. Grabow’s this evening, a Starfire and a Viscount…both #39’s. They have “Adjustomatic” stems and both have been over-clocked slightly, that way when I bought them. I refurbished both years ago, but have not smoked either because the over-clocked stems bugged the hell out of me. Now, I know how the “Adjustomatic” stem is supposed to work..and have since I refurbished them, but I could never get them to spin around to time them. Well…today I said “Your gonna spin or crack a shank or stem….you bastards!” Lo and behold, the first one finally spun….and no breaks or cracks….whew. The second…same….whew….Now I can smoke them🙂. They both have their original “scoop” style stingers, which I find work well for me. Like others say, most stingers are crap, but these and their Yello-Bole cousins work….for me anyway. I loaded the Viscount with some Peterson’s “Summertime 2015” and it’s smoking fine👍🏻
@opipeman Those “Adjustomatics” take a whole lot more force to turn than I expected. I think I have a couple more Dr. Grabow’s somewhere that could use a twist, now that I know how much “umph” it takes.
