It was actually chilly this morning when I went out to feed the birds and rabbits. I'm starting the day with GLP Charring Cross in a Rob Roy and a cup of hot coffee!
My outdoor thermometer reads 81f with 51% humidity. I haven't had a pipe in two days partially because the heat and humidity has been too high and there has been a lack of a breeze. I don't smoke inside the house because of family members with allergies.
@Londy3; LL-7 is becoming my favorite as well. @PappyJoe; Thursday I took our garbage and recycle bins to the curb around 8:00 am, it was 92 degrees with 88% humidity. It was actually kind of hard to breathe. Burning a bowl in that shit, just ain't no fun. It dropped into the 80's yesterday. I have 2 fans going in my smoking shed, so it will be a 10 degrees +/- cooler in there most of the day. As an aside, I showed my bride your picture and she said she thought you were cute. When I grow a beard, I look like Gabby Hayes.
Smoking a Peterson 2016 POY loaded with some G.L. Pease “Union Square” Virginia Flake from 2019. I have some of my Yirgacheffe coffee beans I roasted to medium-plus in a flat white for a morning beverage…well, breakfast, maybe not morning by a strict definition of “morning”.
@PappyJoe It was 55° this morning and already down to 61° right now!
We bought a new charcoal grill today and just finished the first meal cooked in it, Slow Cornish Cross chicken and zucchini, all grown by us. Appetizer/dessert smoke is GLP Kensington in a Rob Roy.
Thank you for asking. My plate is pretty full: wet macular degeneration requiring injections in both eyes every four weeks, the damn sciatica, and early prostate cancer.
I’ve convinced my doctors that I don’t want to live forever, so no treatment for the cancer. I’m unwilling to trade time now for possible time later. I’d rather die than start the catheter dance. I wore catheters for most of 2018. No frickin’ fun.
The heat has finally broken, it's 76 degrees and to celebrate such a great day I dug out me old Carvelli Deluxe and burned a bowl of Barking Dog. I was able to set on the front deck in comfort. Beautiful day indeed.
It wasn't today but I had a bowl of HH Burley Flake about a week ago. First time trying it but I've got to say it might have jumped to my top blend. I need more time with it and looking forward to it.
@motie2 One of my uncles in my mom’s side made a similar decision. He had already had a stroke and had trouble communicating, he knew what he wanted to say, just couldn’t spit the words out. He was much younger than yourself. I don’t think he was even 70 when he passed. Oh…he never smoked or drank alcohol his entire life.
Well, it’s a gamble. If it’s slow growing, I win. If it’s agressive, I lose.
I’m alright with it. I’m surprised I was able to put off what my urologist said was the correct course of action. These guys don’t like patients insisting on making their own decisions about health care and treatment.
@motie2 Slow or Aggressive, you might win either way. Prolonging the inevitable might not be considered a “win”? Hang in there, I wish the best for you, whatever your course.
No pipe for a week. Took the grandkids to Branson and they had a blast! Just got back this afternoon and, after unpacking, etc., decided to take a "BIM" pipe on a maiden voyage with some LL-7...
I still got an hour smoke out of that little WDC….I didn’t think I’d ever get to bed (I couldn’t just dump it and waste perfectly good tobacco…you know?).

My favorite, LL7

Glad to hear you’re out lunting. Your health issues must have subsided some?

So sorry to hear about your health issues 😞
Thanks.
I started the day with Drucquer Casbah in an Apple Diplomat, round two is SG Full Virginia Flake in a Pride.
Thanks. I’m getting my way, so I’m OK with it….. except for the eyeball injections.
Like the lighter... 😊

Yeah, doctor's don't like patients taking money out of their pockets.
The needles in the eye(s) is no fun but you can see afterwards.
The injections slow down, but not reverse, the symptoms. So you go blind later, rather than sooner. Again, I’m OK with it.
A alprazolam an hour before the procedures really helps. But then I sleep the rest of the day.
Thanks, received the TPL pin from a dear Brother on this forum and cut off the pointy part then super-glued it to me Zippo.
Great grain in your smoker.
That's a great idea!
