So I once again (second time in about a week) whipped out the credit card to buy something from SP. @bonanzadriver@ghostsofpompeii@motie2 you've all convinced me to try Molto Dolce. Details in about a week.
@Woodsman-- Good point! I also order an ounce or two of new tobacco that catches my attention and I also read the reviews and any other information that I may find regarding those blends. With the cost of tobacco these days, the last thing I want to do is buy something that will sit around forever or end up in the trash.
@Woodsman I replied to your message on the trading post thread. @Charles don't ever throw it away, we have the trading post thread, if you have something you don't like you might be able to trade for something you like or a bunch of small samples so you can check out some new blends. I like trying new tobaccos and some I like and some I don't but with the trading post thread I don't worry to much if I don't like it.
Wanting to mix a few more aromatic blends, going to do some test runs tonight and smoke them tomorrow and see how it goes. Going to let the Scientist out and try adding some flavors to some of the mixes........it is your fault and you know who you are.....lol
Dr. Mixin'Smoke is in the house.....nah that sounds like a yuppie thing.... back to mixing and hopefully smoking some of it today, if not I still have some of my Eileen's and Molte mixed up....
Finally got my Erin Go Bragh, no apology, no something extra in box, just my two packs of tobacco that I ordered and paid for back in March! Smoked some of it this morning and will have some more this evening.
Been to busy and to darn sore to be smoking past few days, today I get a break from running all over the State to see Doctors so I am going to sit out on back porch and relax with my pipe....no alcohol though....good for the pain but I am out!
Sorry, that was off topic! I have been so busy with Doctors that my mind is not right and the pain does not help! As soon as I take care of a trade I am working on with Woods I will be mixing some Aromatics so I will keep you posted.
@Wolf41035 Sorry to hear you're in a great deal of pain. Hope the Doctor was actually able to help you with your problem. Unfortunately most Doctors are little more than pill pushers around where I live ... and then once the pain meds they give you begin damaging other organs you're left with the pain from your first problem and a more serious one as well. It's gotten to the point that when I wake up in the morning and I'm hurting ... I at least know I'm still alive..
They don't want to give any pain pills around here. I am doing OK and I agree with the waking up in pain and knowing your still alive. lol Lot of off topic on all posts but I try not to do it much. OK Aromatic or not....Erin Go Bragh is worth trying!
Well we keep hearing of companies going under or saying they are going to stop making Pipe Tobacco......Time to save up money and stock up on everything even if you don't think you will like it, gives you some trading power for something you like! I will save up to buy a few tins of each Aromatic but I think I will buy a few tins of other stuff just to try it or have to trade.....
The nefarious chemicals that flavor the tobaccos I smoke, like Vanilla Custard and Barbados Plantation, are more responsible for my pipe smoking than tobacco is.
No one ever was so smooth talking about this than Mr. Cole on his podcast. They were talking about casing and toppings and he casually said how the 'big guys" have stuff that help fight mold and keep it moist for a long period of time. Very nice. Not recommending spraying glycol on your tobacco was probably a good move on his part.
I remember my Dad going to a relatives farm and getting great big buckets of cow manure to fertilize the garden with. Made the backyard smell like a cesspool for a few days and even worse after the rain ... but the tomatoes were big and beautiful. So sometimes it's best not to know exactly what's in the food you eat or the tobacco you smoke.
What's the old saw? "Laws, like sausages, cease to inspire respect in proportion as we know how they are made / Gesetze sind wie Würste, man sollte besser nicht dabei sein, wenn sie gemacht werden." Though often attributed to Otto von Bismarck, the original remark was made by John Godfrey Saxe, in 1869.
Trying to change the Name to Daily Aromatic Smokers corner, so far the edit button does not work and I hate to start a NEW Topic/Post. Guess I might have to if they don't fix the edit button by next month. LOL
