@DavidR002 I usually smoke anywhere from two to three bowls. Especially in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Wintertime I might cut back to one or two bowls. But unless I'm sick I always have at least one bowl at night before bedtime.
@DavidR002 - I smoke from 1 to 4 bowls a day. I have smoked multiple bowls in the same pipe in one day, depending on where I'm at and what I have available. For example, when I go fishing I take a Missouri Meerschaum Legend corncob pipe. I'll smoke it throughout the day.
My grandfather was a pipe smoker and he had 3 pipes. He would smoke one pipe right after the other so each pipe only rested for a couple of hours between use. I still have two of his pipes and they still smoke good.
Some "purist" say you should only smoke a briar pipe once a day and then let it rest for 24 hours or more. Some say you should have at least 7 pipes and only smoke each one once a week. You have to remember that in the "Olden" Days (pre-1980) the common pipe smoker smoked the same pipe multiple times a day and usually just one blend.
From yesterday. The thermometer next to me says 32 degrees F but there is a steady breeze plus moisture in the air so it the windchill is 27 degrees. I'm bundled up and smoking a bowl of Christmas Spice in a Maestro de Paja and sipping a cup of Cappuccino laced with a shot of dark rum.
Why does all this crap happen around the holidays? Sorry to hear that you are having sciatica problems, it doesn't sound pleasant. Get well soon and keep the faith.
Thank you my friend.......I am freezing again as I just came in from getting my generator started and checked out in the garage.....bad storm here at the Jersey Shore tonight and tomorrow. At least we will have heat and coffee. If I was smart, I would go ahead and run the cords before it starts.
I am not even going to try this today......We are up on a hill and my drive has a retaining wall at which snow always drifts. I am looking outside and seeing drifts everywhere, and well, I am too smart to worry about this right now. I can only hope and pray some high school type kids come around and want to make a few bucks today shovelling snow..
After a foot of snow and temperatures about to go sub zero this weekend, I feel I am most deserving of Sutliff Molto Dolce in me Savinelli rusticated Author and some Dunkin'.
Sticking with my resolution to smoke what I have opened first, I am working on the 2 oz. bag of Sutliff Christmas Spice I got for Christmas. I'm beginning to think its time to switch to something else I have open for a few bowls.
@Topaz75 Dunhill Standard Mixture, Early Morning, London Mixture, and Elizabethan are some of my favorites. I bought up a lot of assorted Dunhill tins last year when it was announced that Dunhill tobacco will be discontinued.
I purchased a few tins each month and just put them away. You might consider stocking up on Dunhill now while it is still available under the current Dunhill label. I'm not sure how true this is but one of the guys who works at my regular brick and mortar shop says that Dunhill will likely be bought up by another name and the market will continue.
However, I'm sure the quality of the product will change. Look at the difference in products from other brands that change hands like John Middleton products purchased from R.J. Reynolds and other manufacturers.

Myself, I've had sciatica since Thanksgiving.
An excellent affliction for one to wish for one's worst enemy.
And it's too cold to smoke outside; the one place SWMBO suffers me to smoke.
Love that Christmas Spice.....in fact I just jarred up another pound delivered yesterday (along with 6 tins of Nording Hunter Labrador).......
