With my Christmas haul of pipe tobacco, coupled with what I already had in my cellar I don't think I'll have to worry about the FDA Deeming Regulations for the remainder of my natural life.
Casey Jones Hero's Blend in a Peterson Canadian. First of all CHECK OUT THE TRAIN on the packaging! It is an awesome train. Second I think it is a great light vanilla aro that has become my go-to smoke at the end of the day.
Still smoking the Peterson 2012 Christmas Blend but now in my Rossi straight billiard. This blend is made up of three different Virginias and Cavendish. The aroma is very Christmas like with a mild-medium taste. I am almost through half the tin which is likely to last till New Years.
Had to rethink which blend to put in my new Corey Pipe since it's not a carbonized bowl and I want to make sure I break it in properly. So I'm following the advise of many such as @Woodsman and @PappyJoe who suggested breaking a pipe in with something like Carter Hall. Also followed the instructions of @KA9FFJ, @PipeProfessor, @thebadgerpiper, @Charles, and @Topaz75 who suggested filling the bowl somewhere between 1/2 to 3/4 full to start out. And even taking @Woodsman advice to dab a little honey around the bowl. No matter how long you've been smoking a pipe it always pays to get a little advise from fellow pipers.
Recieved some Sutliff 999 Nine Tobbaco, one of the new ones, so far I have struck out on Sutliffs new brands. I think I'm 1 for 4. Keep trying with each order.
Kramer's "Blend for Danny Kaye" in a Barling army mount pot. Just heard that this is Kramer Pipe and Tobacco's last week as a B&M in Beverly Hills. Enjoying a bowl while reliving memories of vacations past and stopping in to visit the shop.
@Woodsman thanks. It was one of my first tries. I'm getting ready to attempt another, but finding the time is tough when we're in the process of building our house.
