74° here and sunny. Only problem is very windy. Ready to do some BBQ, so I decided it would be a good time to try out my German/Austrian/whatever acquisition from the LV show. Perfect for the wind with some LL-7...
Today, I reached into my cabinet that has a bunch of pipes in pipe socks (about 50 or so), like a grab bag of pipes. They are all refurbs except one T. Cristiano Bosso I purchased new from my local Tobacco Row B&M (they didn’t have the box). Well, the pipe that I “drew” is this Sequoia House, Hand Made in California, Horn. It’s loaded with some G.L. Pease “Cairo” this evening.
Today I pulled out another “grab bag” refurbed estate pipe from my cabinet. This “draw” is a little old WDC Hand Made billiard. I have some MacBaren “H.H. Rustica Hot Pressed Flake” from ‘2020’ rubbed out for a little dry time.
Oh, here's a list of their tobaccos I picked up at the LV Show. Note that Plymouth is not on there, which leads me to believe there may be more unlisted blends.?.?
Smoking some Peterson’s “Gold Blend” in another “cabinet draw” pipe. The Cristiano Bosso 60 A1 (I knew it was in there somewhere🙂). It’s a pipe I purchased new to support the local “Tobacco Row” B&M. This is the second or third bowl I will have burned in it, not a bad pipe, actually a pretty good pipe….I may have too many pipes.
@KA9FFJ I added a couple other views, it has some ok grain in it, the left flank is pretty bland. I was mesmerized by the stem accoutrements and the shape.🙂
@opipeman Those cork pipe rests are pretty cool👍🏻 I could have saved the corks from every bottle of wine I have ever had a glass from and still not have enough corks to build two of those. The plastic caps would not work as well, nor be as classy😬
@RockyMountainBriar; Thanks Brother. I have made a bunch of em. They are corks from "Quite Man" Irish Whiskey. I changed my favorite brand to "Teeling" which has smaller corks that don't work as well. It's a shame cause I bet I have 50 of those corks in an old humidor. I have trouble throwing stuff away. I'll mail them to you if you would like to try them out or have some other use for them.
@opipeman Thanks for the offer, but I don’t think I need them….I also have trouble throwing stuff away😬. I learned that habit from my day who grew up during the depression. I probably have whiskey corks around here….duh🙂.
I received my Limited Edition “Pete Geek” Peterson PPN2023 XL5BC today, #129/130. I have the bowl coating removed and it’s loaded with C&D “Espresso”. It’s not a spectacular blast, it looks more like a rusticated finish, but it could have been worse. You don’t get to pick the pipe you want, it’s a mystery grab bag pre-order, including the shape, finish, etc. I’m not fond of this shape at all, and the finish does not trip my trigger, but it’s smoking like a champ so far👍🏻 This is supposed to be a short Peterson BC stem, for me it could have another 1/2” or more chopped off…that would be my idea of short.

Now enjoying some Peter Stokkebye 24 Nougat in one of my "Halloween" pipes...

Another great looking pipe!
You do still have my list, don't you?
It’s around here somewhere….I might need to start another page😬
