@motie2, The Carey blend Revolution is a very mild aromatic blend, very light room note as they say. A bit of sweetness to the taste, possibly from the cavendish. While smoking a bowl, it changes characteristics, at times. Absolutely no bite. I first ordered a tin, really liked it, ordered 8 ounces. If you decide to try it, let me know what your thoughts are on it.
@dbh1950 -- Thank you for your kind response. I've put Revolution on my list. From the description at the Carey website, I thought it was an English/Balkan blend.....
<<The ..... blend changes taste from time to time. That’s because it contains a small percentage of Latakia. When that strand ignites it tastes like a mild English blend. Then it goes back to the basic blend which is mild and smooth. >>
Drucquer & Sons Inns of Court in a Savinelli Dublin......using the air pocket method of packing for the first time. So far really makes a difference. Cool smoke, picking up more flavors and nuances in the tobacco, fewer re- lights. So far so good. Anyone else out there in pipe land use this method?
@Corey562 Beautiful work. I love the rustication. I don't have an artistic bone in my body. My Dad can draw, my Grandfather was a brilliant woodworker - but the best I can do is whittle a stick to a point. I really admire the work you guys do when creating a pipe. If I could do something like that I'd never buy a pipe.
@motie2 -- Yeah, I've heard about the retiring of Dunhill tobaccos. I like a couple of their blends... just not sure if I like them enough to stock up. I know Pipes&Cigars is running that 1lb special. Just not sure what I'd do with that much of any one blend. I don't really smoke enough of any one blend to justify that much. I'm a variety kind of guy.
@PappyJoe I've been wanting to buy a tin of Bagpiper's Dream since I first took up pipe smoking, but every time I think to do so, it's out of stock. What do you think of it?
As for me, I'm enjoying a bowl of C&D's Epiphany in my Morgan Bones.
A fragrant blend of four ready rubbed Virginia tobaccos including ribbon cut, plug, curly and flake. This blend is lightly top dressed with Cognac for an elegant smoke.

One alternative is Elizabethan, a Dunhill blend, which is going away.....
