@motie2 -- I detected a very small hint maple flavor and somewhat of a very faint sweetness but flat taste. Overall, I am not really impressed with this tobacco. The room note to me, seems to be very faint. Not much too impressive. Luckily I have nearly exhausted my small sample and do not foresee re-ordering this tobacco anytime soon. I much prefer Benjamin Hartwell's Evening Stroll to this blend.
Feeling a little frisky today so I tried Captain Black Black Sea a Latakia blend. I'm definitely an aromatic smoker but will admit, a light Latakia blend like Black Sea goes extremely well with a cup of strong coffee. I have coffee blend I pick-up at Menards call "The Bomb" and it's got quite a jolt of caffeine. So the pair played well off each other. I'll have to keep that in mind. Smoked it in an old Dr. Grabow Silver Duke.
@ghostsofpompeii -- Captain Black's Black Sea a Latakia blend is a very pleasant smoke. I am a both an aromatic and an English blend smoker with Dunhill London Mixture and Dunhill Early Morning Mixture being my top favorites. I tried Captain Black's Black Sea have enjoyed it as part of my regular English rotation. And yes, it does pair well with coffee. I usually have an Espresso when I smoke Captain Black's Black Sea. Laphroaig 18 year old Scotch also pairs well with it, especially for an evening smoke. Very pleasent and relaxing!
As soon as I get off the computer I've already got my Big Ben Calabash packed and ready to go with Panama Jack Key Lime. Great evening smoke, and what makes it even better it's one of those aromatic blends that's not too overpowering and requires little or no aerosol house spay to tone down the tobacco smell in the house.
Started the day with some Golden Sliced x 2 then SG's Full Virginia Flake. I've moved on to Gurkha Retribution. Just got around to jarring all three after I opened them about 3-4 weeks ago. The moisture now for each is Goldilocks for sure.
