@motie2 -- Hey motie2, if you tend to smoke on your rear deck often, it may be a good idea to put up some type of retractable canopy or large umbrella over a table so you can still smoke and stay dry. Just a thought.
We have a lovely rectangular table that seats six out there, with a hole in the center and a big umbrella, but the wind blows rain under, and as soon as it lets up the skeeters come out in attack formation. And I dislike slathering myself with deet, picaridin, or OLE.
I've started my week long 'one bulk blend per week' experiment with Sutliff Chocolate Mousse. But I'm adding a bit of Carter Hall to it as well. 3/4 Chocolate Mouse to 1/4 Carter Hall. I've got a pouch and a half of Carter Hall and think adds to the thinning out the herd mentality of my current experiment. Today I'll be smoking it in my Natural Baraccini Volcano.
Started out the evening with a little Carter Hall in a neat Edwards Billiard that I'm breaking in. I'm on my 10th bowl of CH in the briar and think it'll need at least 40 or 50 more :-) (I really enjoy CH, it's my OTC guilty pleasure)
After that it was MM965 in one of my ol Bent Bulldogs (seems rather fitting to me, ya know, smokin an English Blend in a Bent Bulldog? Maybe it's just me )
In the last couple of weeks I've had quite the "Mail Call", receiving several lbs of tobacco I've traded for, bought out right from fellow pipers or taking advantage of the sales @ the ClicknMorters.
One of the tins I decided to open was an aged tin of McClelland's Syrian Full Balkan (I think it's 7-10 years old)
I decided to smoke this in a beautiful GBD Bent Bulldog.
HOLY COW !
What an incredible smoke! Rich, Creamy, Smokey, Awesomeness.
It was so good that I almost wanted to inhale. ( ok, ok, maybe I did, just a wee teeeny bit. Think this'll hurt my chances on runnin for president?)
For those of you out there that have tried this blend... Now I see what the fuss is all about.
Definitely on my list of "Must find more and cellar".
Low Country Cooper in a Peterson 999 Silver Spigot.... on my front stoop (does anyone use the term stoop anymore?).....beautiful day today in the Chicago area.
