I haven't been on the forum for quite a while then @Londy3 sent me a message and I decided to check in. I avoided all media for a while, it all became too contentious. I'm still smoking pipes, mostly corn cobs, only straight Virginia and English/Balkan blends, no toppings and no chemical humectants. This morning I finished an MM Apple Diplomat filled with GLP Abingdon and I'm working on an MM Pride filled with Kensington.
Digging around in my "cellar" yesterday while playing the old "What do I smoke now" game and discovered a jar of Rattray's Exotic Orange that I bought and jarred in January 2018. After seven years the tin note has mellowed out some but it is still a good smoke. The taste and aroma still has a good honey & orange flavor.
I hate to say it, but the seven years may have even improved the blend.
Well, it’s tax day for me, I’ve procrastinated long enough. So, preparing for tax preparation today, I have a Luciano Pease/Di Piazza prepared to smoke a pre-prepared preparation of C&D “Espresso” and a pinch of CB “Black Cherry”. A tasty blend preparation indeed.
A long day of animal and house chores, taking a break with GLP Kensington in an MM Rob Roy. When you guys get tired of Pease English/Balkan blend in various cobs blame @Londy3 !
Boy you pipers did pages and pages of typing while I was boycotting media! I'll catch up in a few days. Right now smoking what seems to still be @Zouave number one, GLP Westminster but I put it in a basic corn cob MM Pride.
@Montecristo I have not acquired the old codger blend Carter Hall yet, but it’s on my wishlist. I finally got Prince Albert in the can, but I was not impressed with that one.
I snuck in a Pride filled with GH Broken Scotch Cake before our luncheon guests arrived. After feasting on ham, twice baked potatoes, butternut squash, and, brussel sprouts; I'm enjoying my second MM Rob Roy filled with GLP Kensington along with Golden Ale.
It’s about bedtime for Bonzo, so I decided to load one of my little “Cholula” pipes with some Stokkebye/C&D “Resolution” flake, folded and stuffed, for a short smoke to wind down the day.
I had some GH Broken Scotch Cake in an MM Morgan while doing chores. Now that the turkeys are outside I'm sitting outside with GLP Abingdon in Riverboat Gambler along with some coffee.
Do NOT underestimate the power of suggestion. A short while back, @PappyJoe had a sinus infection that kept him from smoking for a few days. I told him about the Sinugator I use and how it has all but eliminated my sinus troubles. Last week had the grandkids until Thursday = no smoking. You guessed it, Thursday I came down with a minor sinus infection due to excessive tree pollen Tues & Wed. Consequently, today is my first enjoyable pipe in well over a week! I know I said tree pollen, but it's easier to blame @PappyJoe for putting the thought in my head...😏 Tinderbox Honey Maple in a Savinelli Estella 9310...

I like that pipe.
All my Tsuge pipes are good smokers too👍🏻
You should never avoid This Pipe Life.

I was wondering where you had gone. Glad to see you back in the mix.
I know what you are talking about, @Londy3 has/is a bad influence on me as well. Bless his heart.
With a triple bourbon rye old fashioned

Great having you back brother 😁
May God bless all of my Brothers on TPL.
Happy Easter! LL7 in the golden nugget
Starting a beautiful spring day with GLP Abingdon in an MM Apple Diplomat along with coffee.
Carter Hall blends well, taming some mixtures I found “too much,” particularly lat bombs, or whatI perceive as lat bombs.
Pretty much anything with even a hint of Latakia is a “Lat bomb” to me.🤢
I think one of my recent tobacco purchases had a bit of Latakia, I don’t remember which one though🤔. Well, it didn’t kill me….at least not quickly.
