@RockyMountainBriar It's a Lord of the Ring thing. Nazgul are basically Sauron's dead king minions. They flew around doing Sauron's bidding in the trilogy.
@PappyJoe Ahh, the Nazgul….rode around on “Nightmares” with bent up nasty horseshoe nails sticking out, probably had hunks of flesh hanging off of them. Like to hunt down short people. A.K.A. Ringwraiths.
The Nazgul either approves or he does not. (I don't question him nor would I challenge him. I'm not Ring-bearer!)
See these two examples: he obviously approves of the Miller (and appears to have enjoyed some himself in this pic), but frowns upon the Ultra. I've even heard Miller High Life referred to in some parts as "Mordor High Life." Perhaps this explains it.
I'm just glad he likes Capt Black so much. He does not approve of Shire-folk with their Old Toby and other pipe-weed, but Capt Black probably sounds more like a pirate-blend to him, and he would obviously be sympathetic to pirates and other criminal class types.
@TakeMeToTheShire, @RockyMountainBriar; Well Brothers, my generation gap is in full view. I have absolutely no idea what you all are talking about. I do love Capt Black, however.
Sorry about that! It's all a bit of humor wrapped up in Lord of the Rings lore. If you're inclined but not up the time-investment of the books, give the films a view. Great stuff! And some of the most beautiful movies ever made.
@opipeman After I posted that picture I was thinking the same thing lol! You can't see the wreath on Zeuses head, otherwise, there would be no comparison since thankfully I don't wear a wreath lol!
@opipeman I have not read any of Tolkien…hell, I don’t even read books. The last one was probably in high school. I saw the first LOTR movie, but couldn’t enjoy it because my hearing is so bad. It was the last movie I saw in a theater. My younger brother was into table top gaming LOTR, so that is how anything I know came about….which is very little. I have to say, my favorite scene in the movie (I saw it on my tv with closed captions…much more enjoyable and understandable) was where the dwarf Gimley gets “tossed” onto the bridge entrance to the citadel by the human ranger Aragorn. Gimley says, “Don’t tell the elf”….😂😂😂
@RockyMountainBriar, @KA9FFJ; I bought into the Hearing Aid Scam and payed several thousand dollars for a pair. When one stopped working they tried to sell me the new improved model that is rechargeable, and controlled by a smart phone, which I also don't have. When I asked what was wrong with the one that stopped working, I was told it probably got moisture in it. They can fix it for $500 dollars. I brought it home and placed them an old Skoal plastic can with 2 of the small moisture absorbing cylinders that come in supplement bottles to keep the moisture from sticking the pills together. A couple of days later, it suddenly started to work again. A few weeks later it stopped working again, so I tapped it on the dress a few times and guess what. I works fine again. This is an industry that prays on old farts like me. F***kem.
I have been partially deaf since 3rd grade. I tried hearing aids once when I was about 25, the wind noise drove me crazy. I was fitted with them through HRDC, so they cost less….had a I kept them. I tried them for a week then gave them back.
@jim102864 Union Square is hard to describe. I had to go out and have another bowl to confirm my evaluation (darn it lol). Mind you, the tin has been open for a few months, so some of the original notes may have disappated. But I popped the lid and stuck my nose down in it, and it reminds me of tea. Yes, tea. When smoking it, one can detect very mellow notes, mild Virginia tanginess, no hay or bread notes, but a certain combination of sweetness (honey?) and a floral note on top of that. This one is definitely different from the bright hay-like Virginias, much mellower than those, but not as deep and citrusy as something like Krumble Kake Red Virginia, and definitely not like the molasses notes you might get with Luxury Twist Flake. It is unique, but overall I would say tea-like, with some sweetness and mild tang.
Of course, taste buds vary and your experience with a fresh tin will probably be different. But that is my experience with it in its current state.
Would I recommend it to a Virginia lover? Absolutely!!
Smoking some C&D Sunbear 2022 Mountain Flower in a Pete Barley Spigot 03. Drinking a light roast Ethiopian bean Flat White with a teaspoon of my friends “Rock Creek” fresh raw honey stirred in. The first two iterations of C&D’s Sunbear were ok, but this 2022 “Mountain Flower” is exceptional. I wish I had bought a truckload.
Once a year I totally clean my little garage work area... whether it needs it or not...😏 While finishing up, I'm doing some Match VIP in a little stubby Paronelli...

Did you pose for the Artist that carved that beautiful Meer?

That clears it up. Maybe I'll check them out someday. Thanks for the info., Brother.

Yep, closed captioning (subtitles), is the only way to go...👂
