Doing some Villiger New World Export in a Savinelli 9904. This blend is advertised as a "classic English blend". I would add the word "mild" to the description. If you tend to shy away from English blends, as I do, this may prove to be a refreshing change from the aros, and this blend does have a pleasant room note.
Painting again today. While waiting for it to dry, having a nice pipe with some great Italian wine. Peter Stokkebye Luxury English in my Friday Savinelli.
@Londy3 Very nice work brother. I minored in art a college, and for my part, watercolor was a difficult medium for me. My hats off to those who know and use the nuisances required to make a good piece... Again, nice work.👍🏻
@jim102864, you are welcome. I did a little research on tobaccoreviews.com about this blend, and out of all the reviewers, only 2 mentioned "tea", so maybe I'm an oddball. Hope you enjoy yours.
Five or six years ago I bought a 3.5 oz. box of Mac Baren Cube Bronze. I smoked half of it and jarred the rest which was promptly forgotten. Until I was digging around in the filing cabinet that houses my tobacco jars and I found it again.
I've smoked two bowls of the "aged" Cube Bronze and now I'm wondering why I didn't buy more when it was in production. The toppings have faded over the years to where they are hard to taste and smell but if you stop trying you know they are there as they support the tobacco flavors.
I’m going to have to try my, now ~3 year old, Union Square again. I want to find a “strong black tea” tobacco. I have been eye-ball’in BriarWorks tobaccos, but after reading some of the reviews, I’m skeptical.
Happy Friday everyone. Smoking some Orlick dark fired Kentucky in my Friday Savinelli while enjoying some 115 proof bourbon. Yep you guessed it the Smokey bourbon style.
Smoking some 3+ year old “Union Square” in my little Pete 127 Iora Spigot. I stopped by Stogies, one of the local B&M’s, after work today and picked up a tin of G.L. Pease “Windjammer”. It’s dated 012222, I think that is January 22, 2021, but I’m not positive. The tin had some bottom bulging.
@mfresa As far as the aged “Union Square”, I get sour dark fruit notes from the tin, no tea at all. Smoking it, it has a light, brown sugar taste, maybe some fruit, no tea. That’s about all I can pick out. I like very strong brewed (3-4 minutes) “Lipton” black tea, which is the flavor I’m chasing, I’m not sure it exists in tobacco though.
It is raining here today and much cooler. I think I will go to me smoking shed and enjoy some old "Prince Albert" in me Savinelli Chimney. It will be a nice day to just relax and contemplate the mysteries of life.
Grilled some burgers, along with fresh corn on the cob, homemade fries, and finished it off with vanilla bean ice cream topped with sliced cinnamon apples we just picked from a local orchard today. Relaxed later with some Lane Buttered Rum in a reworked noname... Great day today...
Went to VolkFest in Genoa Illinois yesterday, an old Navy buddy lives there and we go each year, great time, beers from 12 local brewery, buses travel this little town town to pick up and drop off revelers, live retro rock band, in a city park next to the Kishwaukee river.
Attended by the locals who were warm genuine folks of a conservative nature, just a great time. $30 for 5 hours of all the beer, local wine and cider you want..
I had packed several bowls for the outing but didn't finish them all, so this morning I having H&H Magnum Opus in a Morta pipe I picked up on ebay from a Polish carver named Turkiewicz, absolutely fantastic smoker. I think he has 8 pipes up for bid currently, got mine for $50
I have been remiss posting any pictures of my latest pipe acquisitions (4) but will endevour to post soon.
I bought this pipe back in early 2017. This is the break-in bowl today, a bowlful of 4th Generation “Peaty Kentucky” I really enjoy this tobacco, wish I had bought more. It’s loaded in a Peterson X220 Amber Spigot. I don’t normally use a “softie” anymore, but the Amber is just to easy to chip, especially with my sharp teeth. I had a 100 year old Peterson billiard with a perfect Amber NAP stem….until I coughed slightly when a bit of smoke hit way back in my throat which caused me to bite the top half of the NAP stem off😖. Luckily it broke extremely cleanly and I was able to “Superglue” it. The repair is solid and nearly invisible. You have to know it’s broken to even notice it, whew. Here is the X220.
Just finished putting up 2 qts of jalapenos and 3 qts of sweet banana peppers. Now getting ready to load up some Cest La Vie Creme Caramel in a Kiko meer prince...
Watching the sprinklers do a job on my lawn while doing some Frankenblend in a totally reworked Tom Spanno. You can see the transformation on the Pipe refinishing thread, bottom of page 53, and picks up again around the middle of 54, then finished it up on page 57. I still cannot believe how much work I put into that pipe. Thankfully it turned out to be a good smoker...

No offence, Brother, but your sister is a damn site better looking than you, and you are a handsome man.
Nice looking pipes, Brothers.
Great pipes!
Yeah most people look better than I

Frankin blend after dinner smoke with some voodoo Juice Force after I had some prohibition 1920 bourbon at 115 proof. Definitely not for beginners 😂
Relaxed later with some Lane Buttered Rum in a reworked noname... Great day today...
Corn on the cob sounds delicious! However, you should have smoking a corn cob pipe out of respect for dinner.
Here is the X220.

That is one sweet Meer., Brother!
