I just loaded this new Peterson Christmas copper spigot with some LL-7. It’s a tasty tobacco, to me, it has a spiciness to it, like cinnamon or something, although no spices are called out in the description only vanilla flavoring. It somewhat reminds me of CB Royal, but the Royal has a smokiness. Peterson has really mucked up their classic shapes. This pipe is supposed to be an 03, but the angle of the shank is wrong…too steep, the bottom is a “fat bottom Betty”, not the cute little round firm bottom of the original O3, and they left some weird “cobraesque” cheeking at the rear of the bowl and sides of the shank. This pipe is a totally new shape that needs to have a totally new shape number. I’m not impressed.
From last night. The New Orleans Pipe Club had one of our Facebook members from Mobile attend our meeting. For the past couple of years, he has been growing his own tobacco in his backyard and after curing has been either rolling his own cigars or making his own pipe tobacco. He is also looking for any pipe smokers in the Mobile, Alabama area to set up a pipe club.
Then we had two younger gentlemen come into the shop to sit and enjoy their pipes. Neither of them participates in social media, so they didn't know about the club. We invited them to come sit with us and shared our tobacco with them. Both decided to join the club.
I had a dentist appointment today somebody ate an old rock hard jellybean last week and chipped a corner of a molar off. I have not imbibed a bowl for a few days. I didn’t want to offend the hot dental assistants with tobacco dragon breath. While there, they scheduled me for a cleaning this afternoon (even though the dentist said no plaque, or other nasty stuff). Easy money for them since insurance usually pays for preventative 100%. My choppers were great, I have not been to the dentist since the whole pandemic thing, about three years. I’ve been blessed with pretty good teeth🙂
CRF mixed with a pinch of Golden Triangle St. James Perique, and a slightly bigger pinch of C&D Izmir Turkish in my Pete “03” Copper Spigot, Christmas 2022. I think it needs a little more Perique.
@jim102864 Oops, it actually called Dark Strong Kentucky. When you open the tin is very aromatic but not in a candy or flavored way. It's the smell of full bodied tobacco but hint of sweet Virginia. It actually looks like bacon too. It's very nice actually. It not super strong either like HH is.

All and all, a good night.
I'm not a car guy, but I can really appreciate the effort put into restoring some of the old rods. Those are cool.
Glad you finally tried LL7. It's really good stuff, my go to for sure.
That's what happens when your traveling...😏
Does "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" apply in this case? Hope you are having a great time!!
