My late New Year's resolution (made late, not dead) is to smoke up some of my older tobacco. I decided to start with my gumbo blend which I have been collecting for the last four or five years. This started with a burley blend I decided I didn't like but I was too cheap to throw away. I put it in a jar and then I would add the remains of a tin when there was less than a bowl full to smoke. The jar has some virginias, some VaPers, a bunch of different aromatics. It's been sitting on my desk and about once or twice a month, I will pick it up and shake the contents to mix it up. The last time I opened it was about four months ago.
The time has melded all the different tobacco into a homogenized blend that doesn't scream I'm an aromatic. It's not something I would identify as an American, Burley or Virginia blend either. What it has become is an unoffensive blend that smokes nice and has an aroma that my wife doesn't mind when she is sitting outside with me.
I'm going to start another jar after I finish all this but will keep a record of what goes into it.

Really like that pipe...
I'm not a big fan of the Bing-style pipes in general, but damn that's nice looking pipe.
The IPA looks delicious. Nice Savinelli too!
Looking good Brother! Glad to see back!
Thanks guys. Hope your well.
I finished my morning Balkan Mixture and it's on to some Lancer's Slices.
Call me stupid, but I'm not familiar with that blend.
Do you have more info, perhaps a pic of the tin?
No sweat; it's a C&D blend https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipe-tobacco/cornell-diehl/String-Duster-2oz/product_id/233490

Congratulations to her! I hope she heals up nice and never has to go through that again.
