@KA9FFJ the picture is from the animation I first saw back in the 60s. I was very young, of course, and didn't understand the plot, but the imagery stuck with me.
Smoking GH Balkan Mixture in the Savinelli Sherwood 604 KS that I bought from @KA9FFJ. He did a great job cleaning and polishing this pipe, it looks new!
Doing some Lane LL7 in a reworked Medico Medalist. Help: the stamping on this pipe has Frank's name on it, which I think means it has some years on it. Any ideas when this pipe was made?
Well, call me dumbass, I did it again😖. I just loaded my own handmade “bulldog tooth”? with some CB “Cherry” and proceeded to the charring light, nice smooth albeit “unnatural” Cherry flavor maybe with a hint of coconut?, decent aroma..me happy. Tamp a bit, oh look, a big strand of tobacco fell on my pant leg, let’s just top the bowl with that and give it the true light…..WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NASTY-ASS SMELL AND FLAVOR?! It smells like somebody is burning car tires…..oh hell no, I did it again, I just lit up a strand of swarf from taper drilling the vulcanite stem😖. Luckily the vulcanite swarf was right on top, I dumped the char ash A.S.A.P.. Thankfully, it didn’t ruin the pipe or the rest of the smoke. It is smoking great again👍🏻
@vtgrad2003, @opipeman, thanks guys. I made it last year during the pandemic. It is too big to be a clencher, but is a nice porch pipe. Smokes real nice.
Balkan Sasieni in the horrendous Butz Chokin. It’s smoking surprisingly better with the Balkan blend. I mustn’t be able to smoke Aeros in it. I almost threw it in the river the first time I smoked that pipe.
Smoked a bowl of C&D "Espresso" in the new MM Mark Twain and a bowl of Newminster "Black Cherry" in the Rattray's Chubby Jackey this evening....actually still smoking the Rattray's.
Starting the day with Pease Odyssey in an MM Diplomat. Sometimes this tobacco is ok, other bowls are fantastic. I think it's going to become a replace the tin but don't stock up blend.
Today, I went out to my garage to enjoy a bowl of Cringle Flake. It was very good, BUT, it was HONKING cold! Don't ask how cold. I was in my unheated garage. Just Wow! Great tobacco, but I am still wiped out from the cold.
Smoked a cigar this afternoon on the patio (yep, 53F with just a slight breeze and no snow) while modifying the grip on my new Benjamin Akela PCP airgun. I hated the finger grooves, it sucked.
I also needed some more cigar ash for pipe mud. I used the last that I had in my new MM Mark Twain….which is no longer new😉. Smoking another bowl of C&D “Espresso” in the MM Mark Twain now. For an aromatic fan, breaking in a pipe with this tobacco is Da Bomb.
Oh where to start. Went to my brother in laws. We smoked Boswell’s Blackjack, Route 22, Rattrays Red Rapperee, Balkan Sasieni, and I think some Kendall black cherry. Multiple bourbons with Luxardo cherries. What a great evening!
