Some Casey Jones "Last Ride" in my "The Pipe" Dublin. I have found that the secret to smoking a "The Pipe" is to pack it loose and draw it slow. I have 7 or 8 of The Pipes and I like to smoke them. They are easy to maintain, just wipe them out.
@Londy3 I re-engineered/rebuilt/repurposed it…It was originally a double sided front/back pool cue cabinet that sat on a countertop. I cut it in half and turned one side over, then attached the front/back halves side to side. Which is why the handles and locks are offset, the door hinges were set. Then I built and added the shelves and racks and attached a back to it.
@Londy3 Being a bit OCD…maybe, the offset handles and locks initially bugged the heck out of me, but it adds some uniqueness that I have come to like. The cabinet turned out really well, a perfect size and the way I cut the racks accidentally allowed me to use some rubber fishing pole holders that clip nicely into the racks to hold my big bent pipes slightly tipped forward. They would not normally sit “straight on” without hitting the door without the clips and they can be moved to whichever slot I want. I plan on making another from scratch with the same design. I think I may offset the handles too🙂
@RockyMountainBriar Had 5 squirrels that decided it would be cool to follow the power line to my house and try to get in for the winter.😠 Caught 'em before they got started doing damage.😊 To answer your question, you may have noticed I used the word "HAD" 5 squirrels...😉 It's east when your sighted in...😏
@Londy3 Just got back late yesterday...I caught a 16 3/4 lb buzz there, but it was outside of the slot so I had to throw it back; the low pressure system that lingered off shore drove the fish out to deeper water apparently. Oh well, as they say, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!
@KA9FFJ I just had my exterior internet cable replaced because of tree rats. The little stinkers chewed through the sheathing out near the pole, then water got in and migrated down the line to the connection and corroded it. Dang online connection kept getting slower/intermittent until it died. Spiffy new cable now, back to high speed again👍🏻 There are not many squirrels here. I would have a hard time dispatching them with impunity. Unlike the stinking starlings that use to eat my dog’s food, and crap in her water bowl😖. Some may have been vaccinated with a hot lead injection🤔. Sadly😉, it didn’t save them. Maybe the vaccine needs more testing🤔. I have not had any starlings around since Kenai (my dog) passed several years ago, so the starling pandemic is over, I guess, at least in my yard anyway.
Rainy day here off and on (mostly on), all day today. Decided to relax with some LOTR movies blend = Stokkebye's 24 Nougat in a reworked Jobey. Since I had to totally rebuild the button end of the stem, I'll keep this one for myself (if I can't guarantee them, I won't sell them). Anyway, it's a maiden voyage for the pipe, and so far so good...
@RockyMountainBriar I have ocd and the uneveness was getting to me. But, to each his own. I still like what you did to it and made it work. BTW, I agree with @vtgrad2003, you need to move south or even here 😉 🌄🎣🍻
@RockyMountainBriar; I had a squirrel problem that damaged my shed and pickup under the hood.I have a neighbor that feeds the tree rats. I started live trapping and relocating and now have them under control. I would bait the live trap with crunchy peanut butter. some days I would catch more than one per day. I'll post a photo of how I have my live trap bait tray set up tomorrow. I have also caught opossums and raccoons. It took a couple of years to relocate a couple hundred squirrels. I even caught a rabbit with peanut butter once.
@opipeman I have heard that new vehicles have wiring insulation that is made from plants…environmental and all. Varmints use to get to wiring sometimes in the past when the sheathing was petroleum based. Now it’s down right tasty for them. I think they have started putting something in the mix recently that the critters don’t eat as much. I’m not sure what eras the wire insulation changed formulas.
Smoking some SWR original in another pipe I bought several years ago but have not smoked. This one is a big assed Peterson “Sterling Silver” billiard 107. It was made sometime 1969 or before, there are no assay hallmarks, just marked K&P in shields and Sterling Silver. This was absolutely an unsmoked pipe before tonight.
@RockyMountainBriar; I my case, I bought the 2002 Tundra in 2013. It had 20,000 miles on it. I brought it home and squirrel(s) chewed some wiring and the truck wouldn't start. The second damage was windshield washer tubing. I decided to replace the tubing myself, but had to remove the air filter housing. I found below the filter in the housing over a pound of acorns and a chipmunk nest. Apparently the squirrel could smell the acorns but could find them so it eat whatever was close. The chipmunk could gain access through the wheel well, but the squirrel didn't figure that out. I live trapped the squirrel. put wire over the air access tube and that was that. The chipmunk was located over thirty miles from my place and probably wondered what happened to his winter stash. As a side note my truck now has 35,000 miles on it. I don't get out much.

I preview of things to come. Oh Hell's Fire!
Nice Daisy Powerline🙂
Did you bag any pesky varmints?
😲 Snow already!? Sheesh! Twas low 80s here today
Snow, yep and 26F this morning…it was in the mid-high 80’s last week. It’s suppose to warm up again into the 60’s for awhile.
Looks good and so does that pipe rack behind you. Did you build it?

... It all makes sense now

Dude...it's still summer (I know I know, not technically, lol). You need to move south!
