Couldn't find the time yesterday to continue with my travel log, so a little fill in.
I must say I'm rather enjoying having my wife Drive because I get to just sit back and smoke a pipe and watch the country go by. So, I smoked some 10 Russians,
GL Pease Kensington, and I opened up a tin of Dunhill durbar, which I haven't had for quite some time because unfortunately STG did not reintroduce that blend with the Peterson variety. We stopped at the Strategic Air Command Aerospace Museum which is just outside of Omaha, it's privately run but it's a very nice facility and very well done, and we spent the night in western Nebraska in the town of Ogallala which has the largest Reservoir in the state 8 miles outside of town.
I don't know how well the picture of George lLamay's pipes will come out as I'm using a tablet and I cannot really review the pictures before I post them.
I also picked up about $1,000 worth of ammunition at a local sporting goods/fishing shop near the reservoir. Mostly shotgun shells for pheasant hunting as they've been in short supply back home. My last comment for today would be the other thing that I've really enjoyed is all the people we've met since getting away from the big city. So genuine and so pleasant, this may sound cliche but Real Americans
The Bright Virginia Ribbon is one of my favorites! Simple, sweet, and clean tasting. And I must say you're a handsome guy, regardless of what anyone else says about ya'!
Decided to give this abomination it’s day in the sun. It’s a Swiss Made Pipstar “pipe”. I have it loaded with some Gawith Hoggarth & Co. “Kendal Gold”. I figured a shag cut would work the best in it. It took awhile to get it lit, but it’s actually smoking ok now. There is a plethora of internal “thing-a-ma-jigs”, spring, tube, another tube, more baffles in a that tube, a rotating screen on the bowl and the “shank” can be pushed from the rear into the chamber to tamp the tobacco against the screen. I think the bowl is either ceramic or pyrolytic graphite? It’s tough to look sophisticated smoking this thing. I think it may have been an attempt at a “solution” to the Surgeon Generals warning about cigarette smoking “back in the day”🤔
I'm trying Peterson My Mixture 965 for the first time ina an MM Pride. I've always shied away from this blend thinking that the Cavendish was Burley based, my first impression is that I was wrong, it's Virginia based.
Left Denver this morning, headed back home to little Beirut I mean the Chicago area. Smoking a bowl of the Davidoff Royalty in a Stanwell # 15 while dodging tumble weeds rolling across the highway in north eastern Colorado.
It was an interesting visit, my son took us up in the mountains Saturday where we spread my parent's ashes. Had to laugh when talking to my son about the huge influx of young people in Denver these days, he said, well the reason is because of the great migration. I said did I miss somthing, he said you know when they legalized weed; had to laugh at myself as that had not occurred to me.
We bbqed some steaks yesterday afternoon up on the roof of his apartment building, great view.
Currently cruising through Central Iowa farm country, both the agrarian and the wind types. I treated myself on this trip, so I'm smoking a bowl of another discontinued blend called Viking St. Olaf in a red Design Berlin Schwerin # 56. If I have one fault when I'm traveling it's that I bring enough Pipes & Tobacco & stogies to last a couple of months.
@Beetleman Front porch sit’in and pipe smoking get the like🙂. The Cult Blood Red Moon……not so much. As a fellow member has pointed out. “Smoke what you like and like what you smoke”👍🏻

Wow, that's awesome and it looks really good, you wear it well.
@Yohanan
I just got my town cobbler today and I really like it a lot. Great design, weight, balance, feel and comfortable to clench.
A little early happy hour this Friday morning 😂
Cheers brother
That didn't get me to sleep, l got back up and had a cup of coffee! That worked and I slept while the wife did chores!
Finish a middle of the night bowlful of F&T Waterloo No 2 in an MM Pride.

AWESOME 😎👍
I’m not sure if it is the lighting, but that cob has a nicely colored patina on it. It is natural or one that you stained?
I cheated... it's stained.
Enjoying visiting my son and his wife in Vegas. Sitting on their patio while enjoying some Lane BCA in a Mr. Brog Maestro...
Cheated or not, it's a nice color
good enough for me.
