@Londy3 Well, it has been pictured in the past. I didn’t want people to get bored. I did reshape the stem a bit since then, it was too round and thick at the button. It made my jaw hurt. It’s fine now🙂
Smoking some C&D “Berries & Cream”…still no berry flavor or aroma, similar to their “Strawberries & Cream”, but a tasty smoke none the less. Fired up in a Charatan’s Make Belvedere 1180DC.
A month or so ago, I jarred up some small amounts I had laying around... Just a little bit of this and that. There was a little Mississippi River, PPP, Tambo, Anniversary Cake, Marble Cake, Squadron Leader, and a couple of others. Been smoking it for the last couple days and it is pretty good... In a MM Legend and Great Dane.
My mom and dad always drank instant coffee. So one day I decided to buy them a nice coffee maker... Made a pot of coffee for them, which they said they liked... The next day, the coffee pot became a hot water receptacle... For their Instant coffee.
@vtgrad2003 Ahh yes, grandpa and grandma’s SANKA. I think I have some Folgers instant for serious coffee emergencies. I also have some Pero instant for serious, serious coffee emergencies. Oh yea, some instant coffee packets “ratfu(k€d” from US MRE’s that my brother gave me for nuclear type coffee emergencies 😉
@RockyMountainBriar My wife drinks Taster's Choice...it's not bad, really, as long as it's strong enough. When we travel in our RV we drink her instant coffee instead of having both a hot water pot (for her) and a coffee maker (for me). It's not too bad first thing in the morning choking it down with some CRF, Vanilla Roll Cake or Santee. You get used to it, but I still prefer my brewed Maxwell House! Got a new machine on the way though! Be here tomorrow, courtesy of Amazon!
Tonight I will be Smoking Dan Tobacco Old Iron sides in my Aldo Velani Piedmont. I Wish it were a little cooler out, but I think it will be in the mid 60's so not to bad for a Friday evening garage smoke. Sorry for the not right now but soon!!!! and a ice cold Old Style beer.
Just finished two bowls of Kohlhase & Kopp Meistermischung Nr. 22 Cherry. First bowl was in a small clay pipe. Second bowl was in a Mr. Brog Nr. 21 Old Army pear wood pipe.
I haven't smoked a lot of cherry pipe tobacco since probably the 1980s but I have read a lot of forum posts and reviews where pipe smokers really dislike the cherry topping and often remark on it tasting like cough syrup or medicine. That is not the case with the first two bowls of Meistermischung Nr. 22 Cherry. I've become a big fan of any blend made by Kohlhase & Kopp because of the deft touch they used in the flavoring. The cherry is noticeable when you open the tin and on pre-light. I found it to be more in the background after lighting though. At times I didn't taste or smell it and then it would sneak in. There was just enough of a flavor and aroma to keep it from being a bland smoke, in my opinion. .
The moisture content of Nr. 22 was also very good for an aromatic. If you are used to blends that are so wet you can pinch it into a ball or clump and it stays that way, this isn't one of them. The tobacco is moist and soft but it doesn't cling together. At the end of each pipe, there was mostly just ash but almost no wet dottle.
It lit easily and I only had do to a relight in the Mr. Brog. I found it to be mild to medium in strength and it didn't bite in either pipe.
I did like the blend in the clay pipe more than the pear wood because when I got near the bottom of the bowl, I started smelling wood charring.

Ok we should have a rule when anyone mentions smoking a pipe with one they made definitely should have to post a picture of it 😁

It's in the forum's constitutional bylaws that you tell us what you are smoking it in!

Thems some old cobs! What year are they?

Love the pipe, sorry about the “coffee”.
