Sheesh, it got up past 90 today here in northern Illinois. Still managed to brave the heat and sit in my sweltering garage for some blog writing. C&D's OJK in my Stanwell Billiard.
I'm puffing on a recently purchased Castello SR billiard with an incredibly nice flat stem. I have the pleasure of smoking some of GLP's Druquer mixtures called as Levant. Tasty.
Smoking some “Johnny’s Melange” in my Peterson SH Lestrade. If you were wondering about “Johnny’s Melange”, that is just a mix of all the tobaccos leftover in my pouches that I forgot what they were. All aromatics of some sort though.
Had a dinner of my asian fusion skirt steak burritos and a fire on the patio last night with a group of my CPCC brethren.
One of the guys gave me a couple of tins of tobacco and I tried one of them out last night and was surprised at how good it was.
It's called Spectre and is / was made by AJ Fernandez (my favorite cigar maker) basically an English with some cigar leaf added.
So as I loaded a bowl today in a Molina Zembrano I went on line only to find it's no longer available.
This seems to happen all to frequently these days; the lesson appears to be that if you find something you like you better cellar some fast before it's gone.
@mapltop I remember that tobacco. I never purchased any though, if I remember correctly, it must have Latakia? 😖 Interesting name and tin art. Those Zembrano’s look great, the ones I saw were Stanwells though.
With the heat index reaching 100 today, I thought I’d step aside from my heavy Latakia and Balkan blends and have a lighter smoke. I popped open a 5 year old tin of Savinelli Giubileo d’Oro. Wow. This may become my favorite summer smoke! Sweet, hay like Virginia with just the slightest touch of Latakia. An amazing smoke that leaves a wonderful aftertaste and beard note. It’s time to stock up on this blend to cellar and age!
As seen in the TPL VC, tonight I'm smoking my Nate King Dublin pipe, which I dubbed 'The Chieftain, with GLP's Sextant. I don't pull it out often, but I'm thinking I might have to change that (as well as tell the story behind it).

FYI, I will be in town June 12 - 19th if your available for a bowl.
Doin some Woodford Reserve with some LL7 in my estate Jetstream.
@Londy3 ~ That Jetstream is a fantastic looking pipe!
