@jfreedy ~ My error. It’s actually the Carey English Gentleman. One of my best smoking pipes. I bought the “natural” and it has taken color nicely over the years.
I decided to try something different tonight. I pulled out a 20+ year old tin of Dunhill Nightcap. It was a little dry but with the tropical humidity it was smokeable. The flavors were coffee dark chocolate and nuts. There were some floral notes initially but they soon disappeared.
Second pipe is 221B Baker Street in a Dr Grabow Grand Duke. The Baker Street is a lot more user friendly. You don't have to walk a tightrope between it going out and overheating.
@Ron191 I also have a 221B Baker Street pipe but mine looks a bit different. Mine is made is Israel. As a matter of fact, I like them so much I bought a second.
@ghostsofpompeii The 221B Baker Street I was talking about was the pipe tobacco in my second bowl of the evening. The pictured pipe is a no name Italian basket pipe I picked up years ago. It's a good little smoker but it has a tendency to smoke wet unless the tobacco is almost bone dry. The tobacco is a local blend from King Street Emporium on Martinsburg, WV.
This morning I decided to class up the joint (my back porch) by smoking some 2016 Frog Morton Across the Pond in my Castello while enjoying the cloud cover & even a little rain!
Smoking one of the Russ monthly blends from Pipes & Cigars ... "The Taxman Cometh". Smoking it in my Jan Pietenpauw Cicatrice bamboo pipe, gifted to me by our good friend Dutch (Chris). Made by South African pipe maker Jean du Toit.
@motie2 Maybe it was a “butt-dial” (I’m not sure what the actual term for pressing a “like” or “off-topic” button...or whatever they are called)🤔. It looks perfectly “on-topic” to me. Interesting how I can no longer see who “pushed the button” anymore.
Yesterday, as I was walking out to my garage, pipe in hand, my daughter asked, "Is it stinky time?" Then I loaded my pipe with Tuskegee Airman from C&D. I rarely smoke blends with latakia, since I don't like the taste. When I came back into the house, my daughter said, "WOW! YOU REALLY ARE STINKY!"
Out for a day of lunting in the wonders of nature in the Great Northwest. That was the plan. After hiking for just about an hour, I was approached by a state police officer who informed me that it is now a criminal offence to smoke in any and all state parks and forests in Oregon except in my truck or camp site. Anti-tabacco lobby 1 me 0.
Smoking Cornell & Diehl's Halloween blend "MM3: Curse Pf Mixture Monster - Devil Doll" in my D'Argento Deluxe Estate pipe I picked up at a local antique store for $5.00. Great smoker.
@Ron191 Hey Ron, I noticed a slightly out of focus DVD of the French flick "The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adele Blanc-Sec" on the floor among your CDs. Great quirky little movie. I was beginning to think I was the only one who had a copy of that movie since no one in any of my horror groups seems to have heard of it. Apparently we have more in common than simply pipe smoking.
@ghostsofpompeii that was a Dollar General bargain bin find. I usually collect old horror movies but l also collect some fantasy/scifi especially when they are made somewhere other than Hollywood.
With teradactyls, ancient Egyptian mummies and a plucky lady journalist this is a movie that needs to be seen multiple times.
Loaded some G&H Rum Twist from @RockyMountainBriar in my Marcus cob for the evening. It was difficult to light, but once going, it provided a thick, heavy smoke that I'm thoroughly enjoying. I wish this blend was easier to come by, as I'd definitely order more.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Weather down to low eighties. Lovely evening.

@motie2 ~ If I were a betting man, I'd guess it was operator error. I've been guilty of fatfingeritis myself. Especially on my phone.
