Don't be in awe......just an extension of my slightly "mispent youth"......my problem is I am not smart enough to say when to stop. Whenever I get involved in a hobby or a project I dive in head first without checking the depth of the water. I don't begrudge having these, but I am disappointed at how much money is invested.
Smoke a few bowls last night / this morning while operating a larger skid steer doing snow removal at a shopping plaza, but unlike driving my truck I'm so busy running the machine I forget to puff on my pipe so its lots of re-lights.
Tnx @Londy3. I more than appreciate the compliment... Bringing them back to life gives me a deep sense of accomplishment. A labor of love, you might say...
Just did a bowl of Mrs. Hudson’s 221b Baker Street Blend in my Savinelli Dry System. Other than the slight ashy taste you get at the bottom of the bowls from this pipe it was an amazing smoke. And I achieved a major accomplishment today for me... I smoked an entire bowl with no relights for the first time. I have to say it was an awesome feeling. The simple things in life...
@pwkarch It is a Maestro Beraldi my wife bought me for Fathers Day at a Tinderbox 3 or 4 years ago. I’ll have to look and see if there are any other markings. I don’t remember there being. Great smoker with perfect drilling.
It's going to be in the single digits and negatives over the next few days, so I might as well get some good pipe time in while I can still feel my fingers. C&D's Poplar Camp in my GBD Bulldog as I listen to the wind howl away outside.
@DavidR002 - That's a good one! 55 isn't cold. It's 33 in SE Louisiana this morning and that's not even really cold. From what I've heard, the high in Fairbanks, Alaska is 16 today. Now that's cold.
Bodkin Riff Original in a MM. I've been going back and trying the blends of my youth. This is a whole lot better than I remember. It's windy today and my Zippo got the job done when a Big would have just given up. Thanks for the information on Zippo.
