This evening my after dinner smoke is some C&D “The Beast” from 3/2023 loaded in a Charatan’s Make “Executive” dublin c. 1961-1965. My choice of beverage, some Luksusowa Potato Vodka I infused with coffee, mixed with some half & half, on the rocks.
Did 18 this AM. Got home and finished working on a pipe. Now relaxing with some RLP-6 in a Frankenpipe. Sidenote: I never cared for P-lip stems, but I happened to have one that worked with this stummel so I used it. Darnedest thing, but this stem is very comfortable! Could be due to the small diameter of the stem, and/or the bend... I don't know. I do know it is a mystery... 🤔
@KA9FFJ Is it a true Peterson P-Lip, or a knockoff like some of the WDC pipes? Does the airway in the bit come straight out, or is it actually in the top of the stem? Some/most WDC stems have the general outward appearance of a P-Lip, but are actually more like a fishtail because the smoke still comes straight out rather than up. I can’t quite see the bit, but it looks like a WDC type from the view I have? Maybe it’s the reason it smokes well for you?
You are correct @RockyMountainBriar It is a WDC stem. Maybe that does have something to do with it... By the way, that RubyBark is another list maker...
Taking a break from pipe work with some C&D Dark Cherry Cavendish in a Paronelli Danish bent. Time to start breaking out the orange and black pipes (I have two... maybe three) since Halloween is drawing closer...
@opipeman Thank you. I have been lurking all the time and enjoying the conversation. Just thought I would post yesterday after taking a two day break from my pipe..
I have some C&D “Sunbear-Mountain Flower” from 2022 loaded in my Tsuge 100th Anniversary pipe for my after dinner smoke. I have a hot cuppa joe to wet my whistle.
Added 3 more notches on my pellet rifle this AM in about 20 minutes. There were four squirrels, but after the third one dropped dead from about 30 feet in the tree, the last one scampered down and ran off before I could recock my rifle. Anyway, enjoying some Sutliff Sunset Rum in one of my noname billiards in the hope that he, or another one, will return...
A coworker gave me a few little cigars to try out. The first, an Al Capone Cognac…nasty, the tip was sweetened, really sweetened with some form of nasty-assed artificial sugar😖. I stuffed it in an old WDC cigarette holder once I realized the fake sugar nastiness. That fixed it, I didn’t have the cigar touching my lips. After that, not too bad. This evening I smoked the Swisher Sweet original, not terrible. Then two Swisher Sweet “Diamonds”. I actually liked them the best, not bad. Not wanting to waste tobacco, I cut the burnt ends off of the three Swisher nubs, de-constructed them and stuffed the tobak in my little “The Hampton” pipe, no idea of when, where, or by whom it was made? It has an old Bakelite stem with an aluminum tenon, cool little ol’ pipe. Smoking ok👌🏻
I have a Pete “Short” 03 loaded with some Sutliff “Irish Coffee”. My libation, a double “Irish Cactus”, made with 1800 Reposado, NOT the Herradura Ultra I mentioned over in the “What are you drinking” thread. Mixing the Herradura Ultra would be “sacrilegious”.
”Irish Catctus” cocktail: 1oz. Tequila 2oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream Pour each over ice in a rocks glass. Make it a double, it will disappear quickly. Possibly, even if you are not a big fan of tequila.
Sampling two new blends from Kopp. First is Flame 1919, a non-aromatic blend of Virginias, burley, cavendish and perique. First impression is that it’s a good smoke. The Virginias are in the forefront and is accentuated by the Cavendish and burley. The Perique is a nice condiment playing in the background.

Is that Al Pascia what you had in mind when you suggested I make a "nose warmer"?
😏
Out for a walk with some C&D Star of The East in a XL 315 Peterson Premier. What a wonderful day.
Glad to see you are back.
