@opipeman Yes. They do. Somehow the owner of the building found a way to open a whiskey and cigar bar and they have been open for over two years. There is a wood fire pizza restaurant on one side and a tequila bar on the other but it the same owner for all three places. He also owns a "beer parlor" across the street. The whiskey and cigar bar is the only place that allows smoking though - and it is cigars and pipes only. The sign on the door says "No Cigarettes and No Vaping Devices."
@PappyJoe; That is sooo cool. It will never happen here in Iowa. Congratulations to you and the owner. Maybe there is hope for us brothers of the Briar,
I stuffed a few broken flakes of some C&D “Sunbear Tupelo” into my ‘little-ish’ Pete Iora Spigot 127 for a short, after dinner smoke this evening. It has a wicked 360 degree contrast ring blast. I have a hot, black, cuppa joe to pair.
Smoking a Pete Anni 1898-2023 System 303 this evening loaded with some KBV “White Peach Tea”. This System pipe is taking some of the “teeth” out of this rabid dog of a tobacco👍🏻. It’s still nipping me….not nearly as smooth as the name suggests🙁
Kinda late tonight, smoking some SG “Grousemoor” in a Kirsten M (Gen 1) from 1936-1938. I was out in the garage putting a new 220VAC plug on my stick welder. It was at my mom’s house, and the outlet is different than the one in my garage. It seems I broke the left rear shock mount off of my Jeep. I guess I’ll be riding one of my Harley’s for the next few days. The spring plate/shock mount is nearly cracked through to the second U-Bolt. The first U-Bolt is basically not holding anything, the axel could become…disconnected from the leaf spring😳…..bad juju….probably shouldn’t drive it until it’s removed, welded, and re-installed.😬 OOPS! That’s doesn’t look right. I thought it was driving a little squirrelly🤔
As many of you already know, I usually keep a fair amount of Lane BCA cellared, and use it as an additive to help make some blends more palliatable. However, only now and then do I remember it is also an excellent stand-alone. So I pulled one of my jars and loaded up an HS Studio bent. Yes, it is indeed an excellent blend (IMHO)...
After a nice breakfast of three thick cut bacon strips, three soft poached eggs, three slices of white toast with real butter (one with a generous portion of sweet orange marmalade), and a black cup of my home, light roasted, Ethiopian bean coffee I have my Kadesh Swanson Shield loaded with some C&D “Steamworks” and I am enjoying life immensely.
Why so judgmental about aromatics? Hell, I prefer smoking a nice bowl of Balkan Sasieni, but I also want SWMBO to put up with my pipe smoking. So, there’s a strong argument for some of the better aromatic mixtures. Cult BRM is certainly one of them.
4 days of no pipe! Temps the last 4 days have been between 98 and 101 with real feel between 102 and 108! Finally some relief today... Decided to load up with some Peter Stokkebye 24 Nougat in my old Knute freehand I purchased 58 years ago and enjoy it on my screened back porch with some Earl Grey tea...
@motie2 Why do you generalize my comment as pertaining to all aromatics? I love aromatics, just not CBRM. To each his own, right? If you like it, more power to you. More importantly, I would be happy sitting next to someone smoking it, the room note is fine. Personally, I prefer other Cherry Aromatics. ”Smoke what you like, like what you smoke”.🙂
@KA9FFJ; We finally got some relief from the heat. I've been able to burn a bowl or two in the early morning hours, when I let Winston out to do his thing. He stills thinks the living room is as good as anyplace, on occasion.

They allow pipe smoking in the bar?
Yes. They do.

my list...
Doing some Tinderbox After Dinner in an @Corey562 artisan pipe...
Amazing how some tobacs are like a beautiful woman, until you see them without makeup.
First time with this blend... very nice.
Relaxing now with some Sutliff Taste of Summer in one of my Frankenpipes...

If it weren't for bad luck......

Beautiful evening. Perfect.
Like the sneak smoke break, not so much the choice of tobac🙂
Are you sure it’s not steeped in cherry urinal cake wax?😬
