@PappyJoe Saw her in concert this past year in Branson. Classy lady, wearing a BEAUTIFUL full length gown. And we all can agree, she never forgot where she came from... Rest in peace sweet lady...
The problem with these sort of lists about music is they are about as subjective as you can get.
Rolling Stone magazine has proven time and time again that they are one of the most biased rags out there and lets not forget they tell lies as well.
So this new list of theirs strays even farther, and not because there is a lot of new music to be considered, no, and not on the merit of the music / song.
Many of these titles have been included in the name of diversity and equity, AKA racism, which is sort of the Stone's stock in trade next to misinformation and defamation.
Search the Rolling Stone and lawsuits if you have any doubts.
With this morning's pipe I was listening to various artists recording of Stolen Moments, then got sidetracked to Bill Evans work starting with his work on Oliver Nelson's "The Blues and the Abstract Truth."
Not so much listening but I got a kick out of watching some hilarious "react" videos on Youtube. I was often asking myself, "Why were these college students locked in a sound proof closet for most of their life." I mean, come on, you don't know who Led Zeppelin is?
Hello on this very cool, slightly chilly, cloudy day. Yes rain is on the way and it has set the pace for a nice pipe blend and some jazz fusion mix. Starting with Chick Corea and Return to Forever. Marcus Miller on standby. Enjoy your day and be safe.
<<There are several songs that reference pipe smoking. Here are a few:
1. **"Let Me Smoke My Pipe"** by **Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer**: A humorous and catchy track that celebrates pipe smoking¹.
2. **"Frosty The Snowman"**: Although not exclusively about pipe smoking, this classic song mentions a corncob pipe¹.
3. **"Tobacco Is Like Love"** by **Tobias Hume**: An old song that humorously compares tobacco to love, highlighting its effects on people¹.
4. **"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"**: While not specifically about pipe smoking, this song has become associated with the act of smoking¹.
Additionally, some albums are beloved by pipe smokers. Here are a few:
1. **John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme"**: This jazz masterpiece is perfect for enjoying with a pipe. Coltrane's spiritual journey is beautifully expressed in this album².
2. **Charles Mingus's "The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady"**: A brilliant jazz album that pairs well with your favorite blend².
3. **Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Live at Carnegie Hall"**: SRV's electrifying guitar performances make this live album a must-listen².
4. **Jethro Tull's "Songs from the Wood"**: Folk rock with a touch of whimsy, including the track "Jack-in-the-green," which features Ian Anderson playing all the instruments².
Feel free to explore these songs and albums while enjoying your pipe!
I have no go to. It varies highly but recently I’ve been listening to Hermanos Gutierrez. Instrumental music that is like western meets Latin but mostly guitar work and it’s quite nice.
