@Yohanan Nothing much better and down to earth than good ole bluegrass. On our golf trips, I always bring one of my guitars (acoustic of course), and another golf buddy brings a guitar, banjo and fiddle. He also plays upright bass and mandolin and he plays them all VERY well. We have a hoedown every evening and all the guys have a blast. At least a third to half of our songs are bluegrass, and the rest are more popular singalong songs that everyone enjoys... Appreciated the post...
Actually, in 1968 I was walking the beach at Newport Beach at 5 AM, (weekend leave while in the Corps), and saw him sitting on the beach against a woody station wagon quietly playing his guitar and humming indistinguishable melodies. I knew who he was immediately. Our eyes met, I nodded, but I continued walking and gave him the privacy I assumed he was probably looking for. About 20/25 minutes later I was returning from my walk and he was walking toward the back of his woody with guitar in hand. He saw me and thanked me for not disturbing him while working. I told him no problem and wished him well... He returned the wish to me and we parted ways. I'll never forget that morning...
Listening to some "Giacomo Gates", (Centerpiece) along with a very nice Winslow pipe and Maltese Falcon. It all comes together when paired correctly. :-)
