Okay, couldn't wait until the end of office hours to smoke the Edisto, if you haven't had it yet and you like red Virginias as much as I do (without that perique crap), then you'll love this. I would say that it's probably 1/2 notch below CRF (without that perique crap) in sweetness, especially the 2020 batch, but not by much. That peppery flavor that all us red smokers love comes to the front in a very pleasing way. I would highly recommend it.
Frankly, I have a feeling SP will start using this as a permanent replacement for CRF (without the perique crap). This is not a "small batch" product, and they are so similar in flavor, that would be my guess for releasing it.
@vtgrad2003 I ordered some Edisto and it’s on the way. I think I will add some “gen-u-wine lose-i-anna St. James purr-eek crap” to it as soon as I pop the tin😬. I might buy five tins a day until they are all gone😬. “I’ma gonna” need more of that “purr-eek” crap😬 Dang, that takes money. Well, I guess I’ll have to leave some unadulterated Edisto for you after all 😆
@RockyMountainBriar 5 tins a day would mean a hell of a lot in shipping. But it does seem like it's going to be part of their regular stock, so I'm not too worried about it. I think they have the limit up there now just because they didn't figure on such high demand for it, initially anyway.
@vtgrad2003 I really do have some “Edisto” on the way, but I won’t be adding any awesome Perique to it when I get it. That would be sacrilegious or just plain evil wouldn’t it🤔 I though about getting the “Folklore”, but it is only sold in a 16oz. block, and it seems like it is probably just the floor sweepings and leftovers from their recent special runs. Much less processing involved when you just sweep, mix, press, cut into very large blocks (probably so nobody finds out how bad it sucks if they could buy a smaller amount to try before they get stuck with a huge block), then stick it in a simple mason jar. Easy Peasy.
Well, I pulled another new pipe off of the shelf tonight. I bought it over five years ago and have yet to smoke it. This is the day…just because. It’s loaded with C&D “Crooner” and smoldering nicely. A Charatan “Mayfair” shape 350.
Ah, so many pipes... so little time... 😌😏 @RockyMountainBriar has so many pipes, if he established a rotation system involving them all, he MIGHT be able to smoke each pipe twice a year...MAYBE... But I guess that's a good problem to have. I could never have that problem because of the wife's stink eye...

Wow 5+ bowls a day? I bet I don't have that many in a week.
Heal up brother!

Love those savs. I have a Poker and it smokes great as well.
Thanks, brothers. It is one of my best smokers.
Whose worried about that? I'm just glad I can get up in the mornings...😌
I could care less about anyone's opinion of how I publicly present, I already have a wife!
Truth!
Nice choice! Must be nice to enjoy 62 degrees!
Indeed. Weather app saying 70s next couple days. Yay.

Real nice grain and love the shape. But why wait five years?
Because I have a shitload of pipes.
