An addendum to my 12/14 post and picture of my smoking shed. Today is sunny and 30 degrees. The shed faces the south and when I entered this morning before noon it was 51 degrees inside the shed. This isn't unusual due to the passive solar heat I installed as an experiment several years ago. It consists of two PVC pipes painted black and installed in the south window. One is filled with antifreeze and the top one is open with a small fan(on a timer) blowing through it. My goal was to keep it from freezing inside the shed. Of course it only works well when the sun shines, so I supplement with a heat lamp installed very close and shining on the back side of the stove belly. It is always at least 10 degrees warmer inside, and it doesn't take long once the stove gets going to warm it up into the high 60's to low 70's.
I have been thinking about making some passive solar heat panels to send warm air into my crawlspace....keep the floor warm. Not much insulation in a 1950's run-of-the-mill house
Shovelled out and cleaned off the wife's car. She's off to work and I'm having a truely Early Morning Pipe in a GBD bent bulldog and a cup of Ethiopian Sidamo!
@Londy3 I have hardwood floors too I would prefer a full basement however, my house is kinda small. I have an insulated "Big Garage" that is 980 sq.ft. with a 12ft ceiling, and a non-insulated "Small Garage" that is 384 sq. ft. My house is only 750 sq. ft., at least with a full basement, my house would be bigger than my garage space
I'm having a bowl of Half and Half in a Dr Grabow billiard between shoveling sessions. We only got nine inches when they were calling for 12" to 18". It is good to know that at 64 I can still shovel my own snow.
@Londy3, 4th Gen Evening Flake is a delicious mild vaper. In fact, I’m smoking it now in my French made GBD bent Dublin. I can only find it at SmokingPipes, but it’s currently out of stock. ☹️
Parked at the waiting lot a St. Louis International airport to pick up my son and daughter in law from Vegas. Decided to do some Sutliff Christmas Spice in my Paronelli Christmas pipe on the drive here and while waiting here at the lot...
@jfreedy,, well it has a filter which is sort of restricted concerning the flow of the blend, it seems like a pipe that’s made to be smoked slowly, maybe because of the filter.I suspect I will be removing the filter at some point. But happy with the pipe and the price. The Vanilla Custard is not all that great, Sutliff VC is much better.

good idea. Do it.
I am on a slab which I prefer. Hardwood keeps me warm too 😎

Hey, I just got in town tonight. If possible, let's burn a bowl. Let me know so we can coordinate.
