Motie2 this is a great idea to be sure we welcome everyone! though I have to ask how do you move from newcomer I've been one for over a year and a half. I noticed after the first few months I stopped getting badges and things like that. not a biggie just wondering.
@Anthony - you have to participate by creating discussions and commenting more on other discussions. I believe you get points for doing those two things and from the number of likes (see all the icons, commodejies or whatever they are at the bottom of each comment. Those things.)
@Charles I've pinned this thread to the top of the forum, that way it's always visible. I've asked the developers if adding the thread to the sidebar is doable.

Preserving the tobacco's freshness, i.e., it's moisture content. I think most of us agree that well preserved tobacc, straight from the jar, is better than re-hydrated old tobacco. On the other hand, when I first started smoking a pipe, in the mid1960's, I kept tobacco in the tin it came in, or in pouches. But at that age, what did I know?
@Bobspipe12 tobacco that is tinned can deteriorate once the lid is popped and some of us buy tobacco in bulk which have the same problem. We put the tobacco in Mason Jars to prevent drying out and to allow some tobaccos to age which improves them over time.
Welcome @Octoberking nothing wrong with cobs. They are inexpensive and great dependable smokers that can go anywhere without the worry of damaging them like with a briar.

I was getting tired of reposting the <<<Place holding post to keep the folder near the top for newcomers.>> message.
